Every single Nevermore album is great and special in its own way... I mean, even Enemies of Reality which has some of the most aggressive yet refined rythms and tempos ever, or The Obsidian Conspiracy, in which can be found the darkest and (in my opinion) the best lyrics in Nevermore's discography. I enjoy everything Nevermore has written so far.

I think all nevermore's album deserve respect. They are all made with pasion. The obsidian conspiracy is a very good album. The thing is that loomis give more room to warrel's voice so the album sound a bit ''different'' from the others. It's always like that in metal. When an album show more vocals than usual then everyone is like ''its not their best album''. btw all nevermore's albums are fucking good. period.

oh man, the european tourstart was today here in Germany ... I have been looking for this concert for months now and I still can´t believe that they did not play !!!! The only member of the band who wasn´t at the club was Warrel Dane because he has missed his flight AAAAAARRGGGH :-( I´m so disappointed ....

I thought so too, but his vocals on the album grew on me. And some of the riffs seem pretty hard to sing over. Regardless, I still like the album, although I can see how you'd be disappointed (especially since everyone expected something like TGE)

What? No one here likes 'Dead Heart in a Dead world" ?Oh my god,the pleasure centres in my brain light up like floodlights, everytime I listen to that Menacing guitar tone esp on 'Engines of Hate' and 'Narcosynthesis".I genuinelu get high when I listen to that album.

I love The Obsidian Conspiracy... I guess fans almost always react badly to the "new". It because it doesn't have time to ripen. I hated the album at first. It needed 5 years and probably nevermore to disband to finally love it. I find myself listening to it more than the previous albums now. It's the best sounding album for sure.

By the heaven that bends above us, by the god we both adore; tell this soul with sorrow laden if within the distant aidenn it shall hear a sainted lineup the angels name Nevermore; hear a rare and radiant lineup that the angels name Nevermore?

Best sounding? It depends how you define "best" But for me it's not the best, not by a mile. DNB has a production that might not considered the best by the norm but it's the most savage production they ever had and it supports and enhances the mood of the album perfectly. OC just has a good production but it's not as far outthere as DNB or POE, less risky. Also, you can hear that the band was beyone their prime. Still very good. But beyond the prime. PoE, DNB and DHIADW is the golden times

The Obsidian Conspiracy is not their best album, but deffinately not their worst. The opening riff to "The Termination Proclamation" is amazing. In my opinion, the best album they've ever done is The Politics of Ecstacy...because it's the HEAVIEST.

But music doesn’t have to be very heavy to be good. Obsidian Conspiracy is a very radioesque album. Sounds very well put together.

@MCCrleone354 And The Maiden Spoke is among their best songs I think. Definitely their patchiest album though. Nothing they've done before is as irredeemably awful as Emptiness Unobstructed or Your Poison Throne.

Such a shame to see how classy Jeff is and how much of a dick Warrel is. I want Nevermore to get back together as much as the next guy, but I certainly understand and don't blame Jeff or Van for why they left. I wouldn't want to be around Warrel anymore either.

If ever I wish a band was instrumental it would be these guys. Insane guitars. The singing got in the way. Was totally unnecessary.

The Obsidian Conspiracy is like pieces of cake burried in a bucket of shit. Some songs have great parts, but most of them are just pure shit. I really love all their other albums, but they just fucked up this one really bad. When I first heard the "rise, rise, rise" part, I had to stop and check what the fuck am I listening to. It was so bad, I did not belive it's a Nevermore song. Anyway, Nevermore is still my favourite band, but this record sucks.

Umm... 1:54 why can't jeff loomis name his own songs?Fuck it! he doesn't like TOC, just like me! The only good songs are "Poison throne" "Moonrise" "Emptiness" and "She comes in colors" everything else was either recycled, half-assed, or commercialized. I don't hate TOC but I disagree with most of you, It IS THE WORST NEVERMORE album so far. I hope that this was just a "return to form" type of album and that next will be something like DHIDW, DNB or TGE or even POE just not another TOC PLZ!

As much as I love Warrel, I think he is the one who ruined Obsidian Conspiracy. Everyone else did an awesome job but Warrel's lyrics and vocal melodies just flat out sucked. His performance was the only one that was severely lacking, relative to everything else he's ever done with Nevermore.
