My previous hammer made a bit too much noise, and had play in the guide ways. This new one is a lot more quiet, has a brake and is generally just better designed and build. Specs: 100-120 pound ram, 3hp monophase motor, 210bpm.

One of the best built tire hammers I've seen. Runs smooth and quiet. We need some plans for this!

This is one of the tools that will be handed down generation after generation. Very well built. Good job. Something to be proud of.

I also would love to see the plans for this. A detailed video about the power hammer would be useful. Your hammer is so quiet and impressive.

Other than the fact that I have no where to put it, no need for it and no skill to use it, I really would like to have one of these!! Very cool project! Hats off to you sir!!

I just purchased a 4 horse 3 phase drive motor with a rubber drive wheel on it. Hoping to do something similar to this as my first power hammer.

That's a work of art, don't think I'd get my head too close to it though

Your power hammer I think is the nicest “DIY” home built power hammer. The only thing that I would change is maybe make the moving hammer heavier and maybe a little longer stroke. Just a inch or two.

you have done a great job on this hammer ,well done, its one of the best on youtube.are the slides for the hammer running metal to metal or are there brass or plastic inserts?i am contemplating building a hammer myself and would like to incorporate some of your very good ideas in my design.regards from your friend in australia.

You must have a mill to make those dovetail dies... please do another video showing more about this build! I've made an air hammer, but when it fails (it's not awesome), I'm going to try to convert it to either a tire hammer or helve hammer. It would be great to learn from your work!
