Overall a very pleasing upgrade. Nothing crazy, but the better cooling should help the gpu and cpu work harder longer, and the larger battery, even 2.5WH larger than the Dell XPS, should give great battery life. I love the battery, and keyboard upgrades and finally 8gb video option and 64GB ram option like much of the competition. I also like that apple finally got rid of the 2012 retina display. Basically each year they just made it a little brighter, saving them a ton of money by not upgrading it meaningfully in a decade. The .6" upgrade was long over due, and no "NOTCH"👍🏼 I hope they finally accept color accurate 4K, 4k+, multitouch/pen support, and mini LED and OLED in future updates, flat folding lid, as the PC world has for half a decade, even in 13" models. An upgraded 4K webcam with face ID would also be welcome. Some things from older macs that could come back would be a fast charging separate MagSafe adapter (you could still use slower usbc) that would save one of your slots, maybe your laptop and charge faster. I know, I know, a latest gen SD card slot, as it is probably the one thing pros with digital cameras miss the most. For instant wireless, cable-less transfer of files faster than wifi or bluetooth. True ethernet or 10G support, ether by dedicated dongle support aka Lenovo X1 extreme or port. HDMI direct to your tv, using an hdmi to hdmi cable. Like duh. Digital optical audio in and out like previous Macbook Pros through the audio jack. Upgradeable RAM, like most powerbooks and Macbook Pro have had for a while. Every other 6-8 core $2000+ 15"+ laptop allows this, apple is just protecting it's profits by not giving us that choice. Upgradeable storage, like most powerbooks and Macbook Pro have had for a while, some even X 2.
