When I first got my Xbox 360, it was running the 2011 dashboard, so it's the version I have the most nostalgia for. There's just something about it that gives it a bit more character than the current version. I remember when the initial setup was all bright and colourful with avatars running around.

my parents gave me a xbox 360 on november 2010. I was 6 then. i remember that it came with the 2010 dashboard. I didn’t have any internet access until then because we were moving out from the apartment that we were living at the time in a few months. then, the wi-fi era came and i could update my 360 to the newest version, straight to the 2011 dashboard. the 2011 change was huge. so much improved and i felt like this was the future. i could now watch videos on youtube trough my tv(!) (the app was recently launched), use the internet explorer on my fucking video game and play modern warfare 3 (that was the best selling game at the time), all in one console with a smooth, beautiful and modern dashboard. that was a really big deal. i really miss this times.

I now prefer the Kinect dashboard over Metro, because one, the navigation speed and response timing is far superior to metro. Whiles Metro's is press on the d-pad or analog stick, wait a couple of seconds for the dash to do something. Like, really, Microsoft?!

The first dashboard was the most fluid dashboard. The second was a very practical UI with a nice touch of upgrade. The third was slower and was anything but practical, things were too far apart. The last one has a lot of features compacted in different places but became riddled with advertisements. The original dashboard is my favorite. Navigating through tabs made finding things very easy. While it wasn't the prettiest and most interesting dashboard, it was just so easy to use. Well that and it's reminiscent of the three times I got the Red Ring of Death. Ah good times.

My opinions on all the Xbox LIVE and dashboards: 2005-2008 Blades, That was my older brothers Childhood.... The NXE update:2008- 2010: was the BEST UPDATE THAT MICROSOFT RELEASED!! I always enjoyed customizing my avatar on there! Everytime i see a video On the NXE Dashboard, It reminds me of the fun that me and my bro had on the xbox and playing halo 3 alot back then... The OTHER NXE update... 2010-2011... It was alright... But it changed the start up and the whole dashboard.. And... They took off the NXE intro video... which made me very upset... while growing up.... I spent hours rewatching the NXE intro on the xbox... My brother always told me that im not playing a real game and always told him no... anyways.. heres the OTHER update: 2011- 2012?? idk... but it completley Got read of the entire NXE dashboard.. R.I.P New Xbox Experience... 2008-2011... the update kind of sucked.. it changed xbox for life.. over the years, people started losing interest in xbox and moved on.. so yeah.... R.I.P xbox... but thank u for being around and helping us get through on some of our dark times.. but u may now rest in piece
