This 2,0 turbo is as powerfull as the 4,2 NA engine in the XK with not much more than half the fuel consumption. Its called progress guys. According to many of the commentators here, I guess, we should also go back to carburettors and leaf springs, because thats how, cars were made in the good old glory days......
@stefanfreestylez7 жыл бұрын
fundiver198 the 4.2 was trash anyways but going back to this thing is becuase the looks dont match the performance and sound and thats going to bother alot of car peeps slap this motor in any one fo their every day sedans and nobody would give a dam

l think the 4 pot f type is a good move. European rivals are doing it. The price difference needs to be bigger compared to the V6. I drive an XE S.

Barry Brett The XE S is a fine machine! Although filming our review of it in the rain made our cameraman very grumpy.

Is it the same old engine created by Ford? Ecoboost engine which is installed in evoque and many other jlr models?

no, this is a brand new engine range coming to JLR models

Gallopingclap That's the plan, it's just not always easy as we are a small team! But these '10 facts' videos will be released more often, along with more proper reviews and some VLOG-esque impressions if we can't do a proper review.

I own an F Type S, and I am ashamed to see this latest incarnation of the F Type. The noise of the V6 alone is enough to make you buy one. You may as well go and buy a BMW M4, you get the same power, better noise, and you can actually squeeze more people in, albeit small people in the back. I just specd one of these new F Types and it came in at £66k without any carbon stuff or upgraded radio. Just get the V6 for that money.

I agree with the opinion of xCar of now, Carfection. The product they released first was great and they are fucking it up more and more just as with their other products. They mainly focussed on styling. The new design looks broader and way less elegant. Just look at the side splitters and the air intakes.

It's sheer rubbish mate. Are they totally daft?
@simonm89887 жыл бұрын
The soul of an F-Type IS that V6 or V8. Take that away and you're just left with a pretty body and little else :-/
@simonm89887 жыл бұрын
Well, as the proud owner of an F-Type V6 i for sure know that I wouldn't want a 4-cyl version. Sure, I appreciate the design (gives me a thrill every time I look at the damn thing), and it's just my opinion, but the F-Type is essentially an English muscle car. Muscle cars warrant a minimum of 6, 8 cyl engines, and no-one can deny that a supercharger ALWAYS sounds better than a turbo. Can you imagine, for example, a Mustang without a V8 in it? I can't :)
@simonm89887 жыл бұрын
And I bet they both sound rubbish compared to a V8. And you can be damn sure they won't sell as well.
@simonm89887 жыл бұрын
Disagree - the sound of a sports car is intrinsic to the enjoyability of one (IMO), and that most certainly is related to the 'purpose' of them. Show me a single review of a sports car where sound isn't mentioned - can pretty much guarantee that you won't be able to. I would submit that owning/enjoying a sports car can be easily divided into three aspects; looks, performance, sound. And different drivers will prioritize those in differing order. In my case: looks, sound, performance. Yours/others will obviously differ :)
