Thanks! I did own the Sony Platinum so I can pretty much help you out right here. The Platinum have more bass, they have a different look etc, but more bass is the main difference. There is also the option of some games offering enhanced 3D audio but not too many games have it right now and it's not a world of difference from what these offer. I preferred the overall sound that the Gold headset offers as it is less bass heavy. I also found the Gold slightly more comfortable to wear but we are all different so that may not be the case for everyone.

TheNextGenNow just wondering I know you mentioned little more comfortable then the platinum headphones which I just purchased the clamp factor and the minimalist cushion on the platinum set is so uncomfortable after about an hour I need to take them off is the gold that much more comfortable that I should buy them ?

Does the virtual surround sound work with amazon rime, spotify and youtube apps? not into anything but gaming on the console but want to see if i can utilize this for movies and songs etc. same question for pc and smartphone, does the vss worth there too? i have yet to experience surround sound in movies or games ordered this today, i have high hopes for its performance as it costs a fortune in third world countries to buy such stuff

You mentioned more than once that the surround sound is simulated. It's a game, so it's obviously simulated, wether you use earphones or surround sound speakers. It's still simulated by software. Also, rendering the sound via earphones is as good as surround sound speakers as you are listening via your two ears either way.

I gave a sample in the video of how the mic sounds. People will hear you, it's not crystal clear, but it works however the quality isn't what it could be. I haven't had any complaints but I don't use it much.

I am not sure about that and I don't have another mic to test. When you switch on the headphones the PS4 automatically picks up the inbuilt mic, you can mute it, but you'd need a way to be able to switch to a 2nd mic. Sorry I can't help more.
