Thank you for this video, Scott. Got me thinking. I was shopping my first set of climbing sticks, but I think I’ll try this method first. Question: when passing limbs, what are your thoughts on replacing the lineman belt with an additional prusik on the leg tether?
@scottadkins37714 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean but within the next two weeks I would like to put out a video showing the improvements I've made for going around limbs. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

@@scottadkins3771 Thank you for you reply, Scott. I look forward to the upcoming video! I'll try clarifying my question. If you added a friction hitch (e.g. prusik) to the tether connected to your left leg, and clipped your harness into that friction hitch before moving the tether connected to your right leg past the limb, do you think you would be secure enough to eliminate the lineman belt from the process? The thought is certainly not to sacrifice safety, just wondering if you think that could safely shave a few seconds off the limb passing process.

Simple enough. Now can you make a video showing how to make your leg strap tethers?

Looks like to me that the hose on either side of tree covering the rope helps with moving the rope up and down the tree due to its flimsy character

are you in North Carolina?

No. I'm in Ohio and it's much safer when you use a soft saddle or a rock climbing harness connected to the upper tether. Thanks for watching

At this time, I don't think it's ready. It takes me about two minutes to get up a tulip poplar, where as it takes me three minutes to get up a red oak. But I believe I'm getting close. Thanks
