Trolling motor bounces like mine on my targa v20. They should make something to hold it better so it doesn’t beat itself to death going across the lake.
@g4outdoors4 жыл бұрын
That’s the way they were designed. I totally agree with ya though.
@g4outdoors4 жыл бұрын
@Jordan Behlen They are carbon fiber shafts that are designed to not only take the abuse of hitting underwater objects, but also being able to take the abuse of being on the front deck. Is it the best thing to let them bounce around like they do? Probably not, but they are designed to take the abuse. Would a “foot” under the head while in transport help? Sure, but not necessary. If it was necessary, they would include such items in the kit, design it so that the head has less clearance to bounce, or even recommend them in the installation instructions. They do none of these. Saying I “now nothing” isn’t quite the case on this subject. If you want to debate “newer” units and what abuse they are designed to withhold, I’m here for debate all day long. I enjoy the conversation Jordan. One of us might come out with our minds changed, ya never know.
@g4outdoors4 жыл бұрын
@Jordan Behlen Totally agree with all of the “brains” being in the head of the unit it should be more secure. I actually do have a support on mine while on the water lol. I just have to be a smart ass myself and argue both sides. I don’t like watching it bounce around like they do either. No apologies necessary Jordan!

Those boats must have gotten really heavy over the years. I still have my 1996 targa 18 with a merc 115 2 stroke and it does 50 mph in calm water. 46-48 all day in rougher water. I wish I had that center rod locker. Must be nice. Why is the trolling motor setup so high. I just ordered the terrova 80lb thrust with a 60 inch shaft and I hope it doesn't sit that high. Must get in the way. Or did u just raise it up because ur in 2 feet of water?

G4 Outdoors that makes sense then. Really nice boat. Some people talk bad about tracker quality but if you take care of it, it can last a long time. Mine is 25 years old with the original outboard and trolling motor (until the terrova comes in) and I've made some updates to modernize it with electronics and removable rear casting deck and a swim platform. But the carpeting and vinyl has held up. Nobody believes it's 25 years old and I keep it outside under a car port. Not in a garage. The only thing that doesn't work anymore are the gauges but those go on all boats over time. You will enjoy this for many years. Congrats

WT stands for walk thru windshield. Also give that girl some trim. The water should be breaking from you to the back of boat.
@g4outdoors4 жыл бұрын
I will make a video on the plaining level just for you bud!!! That is due to the 150hp. I have to trim it all the way down to turn hard, or even slightly hard for that matter. The motor likes to cavitate quite a bit. And the plaining wash being so far forward is because it doesn't have the balls to get up any higher or it will start cavitating again. That is why I said I would recommend getting a bigger motor, but its not necessary. I'm satisfied with the performance, but like the saying goes, I wish I would have got a smaller motor does not apply to boats, LOL. But for $9k extra, I'm just fine scooten across the lake at 42mph instead of 50 or so. One other thing, the motor is pretty smart and that is all the further it will allow the trim to go before it knows it is starting to cavitate. A TON of safety features built in. I can't even get this one ton boat to porpus (< cant spell) , its just a flat runner with the 150hp. Again, just satisfied, not amazed.
