Would have liked more of a choice of petrol engines. 1.0 or 2.3. No 1.6 or 2.0 ecoboost. Or even a decent power diesel. And the heater controls in the touch screen is a bad idea in my opinion. Looks good though and I bet it drives better than any other car in its class

agreed, they should have kept the MK3 fitted 1.5 ecoboost with 182bhp for the ST Line level, instead of over-working a 1L unit.

I've had every generation of focus since the first one and like you expect they have evolved for the best driveability technology etc etc and this one is no different and it is superb to drive!.........apart from the quality of the materials used in the building of it I've had trouble in the last 6 months of ownership with snapped window buttons windows which won't work properly a gearknob that has discoloured and is badly worn a new catalytic converter and front light brackets that have snapped🤦‍♂️ so not a very good start to my ownership!

Problem is, quite a lot of the tech you have mentioned in the video are optional extras. I have ordered the ST Line Vignale and had to add an optional extra to get a rear camera. BLIS is also optional. I have ordered the very top of the range not including the ST.

It's a laugh when they say cluter free dash by removing physical buttons and having you mess around on a stupid looking multi media screen, that like in audi's etc looks like some cheap aftermarket bolt on from Halfords, at least make it flush and integrated into the dash, car accidents are going start going up in my opinion, if you ever driven a modern car it ain't easy trying to touch a screen in a certain place while driving. I remember getting a stern telling off from a police officer about having my alpine dvd player out while driving, back in the day pop out screens were set up to only come out while handbrake was on. May as well make it legal to use mobile phones while driving. Can tell car designers spend most there time snorting a bit of Charlie.

Gutted that i have manual 1.5 diesel focus that averages 57mpg. Now only available in auto thats about 5mpg worse on fuel 🙄

The new focus has much less tech on it than previously. I have ordered the top of the range STLine Vignale (not including the ST) and had to order as an optional extra a reversing camera. My 3 year old Fiesta Vignale has more tech on it than this.

@subliminal juggernaut In the early 80s an Escort 1.6 Ghia cost £5750. Adjusted for inflation thats around £19K. Despite its Ghia tag it gave you 4 wheels some seats a wheezy single cam engine and a sunroof. There was no power steering, no antilock brakes, no turbo charged multivalve engine - 70bhp vs 125 bop, only a mono AM push button radio vs infotainment system with navigation. It was less than half the car. You would also pay full list for the Escort - whilst the Focus will get significant discounts.

It follows the new Kuga of over 2 years ago along with Puma then Fiesta so they aren’t copying Koreans, who have copied Ford and others over many years in trying to overcome their cheap poorly designed cars to compete with European and other much better makes.

Too many quality issues plus the dreaded poorly designed ecoboost engines. Ford mechanics in dealerships hate these engines. Where are the fords that we used to have with decent build and reliable well engineered motors!

Ecoboost it's the best 1.0 engine in the world, and I'm not saying this, people are saying. Compare with trash VW and others and you'll see that ,,EcoBoom" it's superior, it was updated a few years ago and it's amazing to drive.
