Be realistic..... you've bought a naked bike and then complain about the lack of wind protection. That's like buying a supercar and complaining that you can't get a fridge freezer in the boot.

You have got a point, but I still want to show that also this naked bike does not have good wind protection

Interresting. Just for the wind protection, it's not really a minor point. Yamaha have two windscreen for this model

Fuel consumption is fine. You can do 200km per tank with average driving. That includes some high speed and wheelies.
@faithonwheels533 жыл бұрын
Yes 200km should be possible, if you completely fill and almost empty the tank.

@@faithonwheels53 I've had the 2017 Yamaha MT-10 and it gave me 33-34 miles to a gallon riding normally with several hard pulls and fast cornering through 2 hour rides mostly. The 2021 Yamaha MT-09 will give you 45-49 miles to a gallon which is great. It might have a smaller fuel tank compared to some other bikes which makes you stop to refuel at every 200km, but it's not due to the bad fuel economy, it's just about the size of the tank.

In TCS Mode „M“ the TCS isnt off… u can optimize Ur preferences in this Mode at the Settings. To Turn off the TCS u have to hold the up botton for like 3sec and the Display shows „OFF“ After. Than the TCS is completely off!

You can get anywhere between 40-60mpg depending on how heavy you are on the throttle, at 48-50mpg average for me I'd say fuel consumption is not bad. Its more the size of the tank and lack of wind protection that you seem to have issue with... but then it is a naked street bike... not a tourer so you cant throw shade on it for that. Sounds like you should have gone for the Tracer.
@faithonwheels537 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Yes for high mileage highway touring this is not optimal. But on country roads or in the inner city it is an absolute blast to drive!

You obviously don’t like naked bikes, that’s fine. You contradict yourself two many times in the review. I have rode this bike a lot now and it’s a great fun bike that you can do everything on.

Thank you for your comment. It sure is a great bike, but like everything else it is not perfect. I appreciate naked bikes, they are a great all round package. But fully faired bikes with more wind protection are more my style. Where did I contradict myself, I may set that straight

I’ve been waiting for them to become available where I live, and I have an eye on the SP. But what you said about the fuel consumption irks me somewhat. What’s your riding style? Are you heavy on the throttle around town? Lots of gas given from standing and such? According to the manufacturer’s specs, it should get around 275km per tank.
@faithonwheels533 жыл бұрын
During my time with the bike I was pretty heavy on the throttle. But 275km per tank is not realistic. I think a max of 200km can be possible. The SP should be a lot better, great choice!
@DJ-jw6vm3 жыл бұрын
@@faithonwheels53 I'm surprised by this, to be honest. It's the same engine in the Tracer, which is a heavier bike by almost 30kg. That would not be good fuel consumption for a touring bike. Where you riding everywhere in D1 mode?
@faithonwheels533 жыл бұрын
@@DJ-jw6vm you are right the tracer is heavier and must be less efficient.. yes I was always riding in the fastest mode, so not the most efficient riding style.
@Rontonsoop3 жыл бұрын
its not terrible if generally keeping revs below 5500 (cruising). it'll do about 45mpg. but if you consistently have it up at 6-7k+ (fun zone) it eats fuel like no other.
@neoplague21393 жыл бұрын
@@Rontonsoop yes I was going to say I watched rides where the active fuel consumption is 45-50mpg and my sv650 only had a 2.8 gal tank. That about what I get 45-50 170 miles per fill up

Obviously you are an average rider. Therefore your review is based on your skills. You are riding a naked bike and complaining on wind protection! What can I say!!?? This is the philosophy of the bike, to be exposed to the wind . Otherwise buy a Super Tenere or an FJR. Hanging from the steering is not a proper way of riding. Steering is to steer and your legs to hang. This comment shows your skills. Suspension is hard you are right but few clicks counter clockwise and everything is fixed. I own the SP model and I can tell you the bike rocks!! I am not biased with the brand or the model, because I own a Super Tenere 2011, a ZX10R 2021 and Gold Wing 2019 and I am riding and racing since 1985
