I chose the Z900 over the MT09, street triple RS and the 890 because of the extra cylinder. For me nothing beats the smoothness of an in-line 4. The SE is just an added bonus with components that improve over the standard version.

I own a 2021 z900 and to be honest unless your a track day junkie the standard suspension and brakes are spot on. The money could have been spent on a quick shifter rather than pretty forks and brand name calipers. This would have added something exotic to an already great bike.

I agree. The normal Z900 is a perfectly good road bike and therein lies the problem: A lot of people can’t wrap their head around that many riders never go to the track and don’t have any need for a stiffer, more uncompromising bike like a Duke 890 R. If you really want to sharpen up a Z900 then put on some decent rubber instead of the frankly underwhelming OEM Dunlop Roadsport 2s.

@@MachoMadness69420 - agreed on tyres, but adding better brakes to the Z is a no-brainer too. Never a good idea to have anything less than the best brakes available - it's like advocating for cheaping out and buying a mediocre helmet instead of a great one.

i own a 2021 z900, and i think brakes are terrible for the kind of power you get. I always have two fingers on a front brake when i ride, and imho it takes too much muscle power to slow down efficiently. Overall, a good bike for the money, although i'd say mt09 is marginally better at everything except the looks (subjective). Too bad at moscow dealerships mt09 was like $1500 more expensive than z900, so it was a no-brainer for me.

I dont care at all if a bike has a quickshifter cause one of the reasons i love riding is the clutch shifting honestly. Once you use the QS primarily then the clutch lever is useless. And whats the use of a QS anyways? To get off the line at a red light faster? Im not a track rider or street Rossy so i personally dont care about having a QS.

I really like the Z900 when I saw it in a local Kawasaki dealership. But the bike I really fell in love with was the Z900RS Cafe. Same engine (less HP), better suspension and it just looks amazing imo. Still, the Z900SE looks pretty damn good and in a way I kind of want one. Doesn't bother me in the least that the Kawi is made in Thailand (if I could confirm it), as any company worth its weight in salt is going to make sure their materials and production processes are in alignment with the country of origin, including the workforce who is trained to do the work. Nothing magical about the hunk of dirt or the air over Japan. @@Tobeon2 I let a fully speced newish S1000R pass me by at a dealer. Semi active electric suspension and all. Could have got it for the same price and the coming Z SE. A deal, it went quickly. Thing is I am not sure what i would do with 160bhp riding down the road to the mall or a meeting. Also maintenance is costly given the new price was 40% more than the Z SE and double the GSX S750. I ride a 200kg bike and for me weight is irrelevant once you start rolling. Can't feel it again till I stop. A little counter steer and even a heavy bike will roll in and sit in a corner. Maybe exaggerating, U turns and tight circles take practice and you know you are on a bike not a scooter! Also parking. But on the road it's easy. Cornering takes practice and professional training is essential. Over here the Government provides it for free. Well $50 for a eight hour day course in a small group with Comms. Called Ride for Life courses and funded by the Accident Compensation Corporation, the state owned compulsory accident insurer. They also run a Shiny Side Up programme with news letters and an annual road show. All about keeping bikers out of hospitals and cemeteries. Still looking at the GSX S750 ....

I can open up and rev high with the 400. It is however a bit cramped in size and not quite fit for highway trips, so was thinking of upgrading to this Z900. I know I'll be satisfied on the highway trips, but what about my everyday commute to and from work (30 mins curvy coastline 50km/h road). Will this 900 be boring for me? Thanks. Looks cool with quality kit. Where I live the MT09SP is the same price as the current Z900. On paper better value. The SE will be welcome but the higher price hard to justify. The GSX S1000 will be cheaper than the SE here. In theory less well equiped but in real world terms with a quicker shifter and 148bhp it will be superior. Pity the designer was playing with lego when they designed the front light. Ugly. For not much more than the Z900SE you can get a 2020 CB1000R here which looks way cool in black, again has more go and the famous Honda quality. The Street Triple RS will be a similar price to the SE. Quick and a real track bike but hard to justify for a 765 with less low down grunt than all options including than the Z. And of course all this ignores the KTM 890 and even the Ducati Monster. So yes the SE will be a great addition but there will be better value around.At least where I live.

@@mathiashammar1 Boy Boy... you probably just made me to get S1000R🥰😋. I recently tried S1000R (2019) and R NineT (201?)... and.. OMG..what a bike!!!! Seriously, I have owned and tried about 10 bikes in the past 4 yrs and these two are the best bikes by far. I am so torn between these two although I am kinda leaning toward S1000R for a practical reason (The boxer engine of R NineT can hit the sidewalk blocks when you ride along the road shoulders during the heavy traffic in Seoul, Korea 🤔🤨)

No IMU .. no cornering TC or ABS ..!! Or QS .!!!🤔🤔🤔it’s way behind the others and much heavier!!! I’d love one .. but it needs these extra essentials.. in my opinion..😁😁.. I think Kawasaki are very inconsistent with their Z naked’s .. unfortunately you’ve got to have a huge behemoth of a naked with 200 hp and a Supercharger to get all the latest tech !! I don’t know why !!🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️😁😁

@wescam
@wescam 3 жыл бұрын
Kawasaki will announce some new US bikes for 2022 on Oct. 5. After that dies down, they have a few more to announce. Check the US site for details. Reasonable assumption is Z900SE, Z900RS SE, Z650RS will be in the first wave announced. No dealers who get projectied deliveries have put up this Z900 SE by accident yet. Good dealers will make a call list for deposits now for when the shipments start showing up here.
