I didn’t realize the bottom grill could get that lower. I have mine set to the medium slot .

Excellent review! Very well edited and organized. Some other assembly videos get tedious without any editing or with the assembler standing and obscuring key features.

That one bit of cardboard with the cupholders on it actually seconds as a place to roll the grill into when you are assembling it, it will cradle the grill during that part.

How’d your first cook go?

I seasoned it tonight and decided to cook inside during that, but tomorrow is pork chops on the Traeger!

My Traeger always starts off smokey like in your video but clears up after about 30 seconds, I would love to have a bigger smoker like the 885.

Pellet smokers do often smoke up a bit when igniting, not just burn in
@RedSmokeBBQ2 жыл бұрын
Cheers for that Aaron. What brand do you have?
@AdvHQ2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I need to start my Pit Boss with the lid up, until it's properly ignited. Possibility of a smoke explosion.

Nice one! Once you go pellet smoker, you won't go back 😉

I've been tossing up between this and the timberline. Looking forward to the full review mate! But quickly... what do you think of the porcelain coated grates? I haven't really own any BBQ with grates like that, I'm wondering how they are in terms of maintenance, longevity, performance. Whether the stainless steel in the Timberline would be worth the extra bucks...
@RedSmokeBBQ2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I can only talk about the ironwood as I am not currently testing the timberline but if the only reason for spending the extra coin is for the grates then I probably would save your money, so far these grates have been fine and super easy to clean and wipe down. You would have to look into it but you could possibly buy stainless grills as a spare part if you were that concerned? Apart from that there is only a few other subtle differences which I will cover off in the next vid which is due out shortly. 👍

I really do like the idea of this smoker, but have been apprehensive due to the overwhelming amount of reviews I read about the paint blistering. Have any of you experienced this?
@RedSmokeBBQ2 жыл бұрын
I have been really putting this smoker through it’s paces. I think I have used it at least twice a week since I got it and the paint looks as good as the day I unboxed it, I wonder if that’s people who leave it outdoors in direct sunlight? Mine is undercover.
