It's September so let's get in the fall spirit!! 🍁I hope you enjoy this first fall video of mine! Most of the decor that you see in this video is from past years but anything that I have bought recently, will be linked in the description, if you’re looking for something in particular. 🥰 Decorating for fall is my absolute FAVORITE and I think it’s because I can leave it up & ENJOY it for 3 months! My husband had a lot of problems with allergies. After a lot of testing we had to remove our carpet and we put in hardwood and what a big difference. Best of luck.

I had to do the same thing! Carpet wreaks havoc on allergies! My allergist and pulmonologist said to never have carpet in my home bc my allergies are so bad.

Thank you for sharing! We had carpet in our last house, and never had the issue. But I totally agree with you. It’s just so hard here in the colder months because without carpet, the house gets very cold. I think if we go go through the testing and they don’t find anything that will be something we will look further into. Thank you for sharing your experience.

⁠@@JamiesJourneyif your house is cold during winter check your insulation. We spray foam our crawl space & attic. Also added loose insulation on the attic. And that has helped keep our house in a comfortable temperature for winter & summer. Or you can look into heated floors. We had that when we lived in Maine.

I had to do the same thing. Reduce all fabrics in our bedroom-no extra pillows or curtains and hardwood floors. I have a large air cleaner in the bedroom that runs 24/7. I also got an allergy rated vacuum-a Miele canister that filters the air that comes back into the room.

Hi, Jamie! It's been a long time since I commented, currently in a pretty busy phase of life, but I have been watching your videos in between for motivation as I could and I am finally caught up. I found out we are expecting back in March, and I am now 29 weeks pregnant with our 2nd child, a baby girl, due in November 🩷 and then in May, my husband and I purchased our very first home, so we've been busy working on the house and making it our own and settling in. I recently decorated for fall too, and I was so excited to decorate in a new space, but I feel like so many of the decorations I used in our old apartment just don't work well in our house now 😅 I also feel like my decorating style is always evolving. I have a similar fruit fly story from our old apartment 😅 Couldn't figure out where they were all coming from until one day I pulled out the fridge to clean and found a rotten banana that fell between the counter and the fridge 🤢 It happens! Well, first off, congratulations on your pregnancy! Enjoy that baby girl!❤ also, congratulations on your new home! I totally get it! Our old house was completely different, as far as paint colors and tones. I felt like when we moved into this house and had to decorate for the seasons last year, I had to slowly bring in different stuff! The one thing I was just told myself was, it doesn’t have to look perfect. Do what you can and little by little, year after year, you’ll get it the way you want it. This may be silly, but I’m so glad I was watching the overnight oats part while making my grocery list this morning! It reminded me to add the ingredients but also that my can opener broke this week and I needed to buy a new one! Thank you for sharing your days with us and ugh to allergy testing! My 14 year old son had to do it and I felt so bad but relieved in the end because now we know what he actually is allergic to. Such a necessary evil. Thank you again and enjoy your week!

Hi Jamie, yes it is propolis. It is actually beeswax that is used for medicinal purposes. Here (in the Czech Republic) it can be obtained directly from beekeepers when we dilute it with medical alcohol (the exact amount will be advised by the beekeeper) - this liquid is then used for cold sores, aphthae or light abrasions. Diluted propolis can also be found directly in the pharmacy... As for allergen tests, we usually do light injections on the hands with various allergens. After a week, it's time for a check-up... Your decorations have me excited for fall now!! For your counter/island, I was thinking maybe some fall-inspired place mats for where the girls sit at the counter. I also thought of a table/counter (fall-inspired) runner for your counter. Regardless, the fall decor looks great and definitely puts me in the fall excitement mood. Poor Addison! I'm glad she's on the mend and didn't freak out too badly over all the blood. Kids are resilient, that's for sure! Final thing: I loved that sweatshirt color you were wearing when putting up your fall decorations. I am so ready for Fall. It was a hot, humid Summer here in N. J. FALL is my favorite season! I've been decorating all weekend but trying to simplify my stuff. My birthday is October 29th so I have tons of Fall and Halloween decor that I have received as gifts over the years. I filled the entire pool table with giveaways, I wish you could see I've invited family and friends to take what they'd like. I know it sounds terrible to do but I have way too much. I'm hoping they will all enjoy it. Good luck with your testing. So happy you found the cause of the smell. I remember that happened at my Mom's and we found a potato in the back of the broom closet after we took everything out. . Who knows how it ever got there. Your home looks so nice for Fall, enjoy! 🧡

In the living room for pillows and throws, a pretty hunter green would be pretty on the sofa with pops of brown! It would be like having the blue pillows but a darker vibe for Fall and you could continue using for Winter/Christmas too!

Hi Jamie!!! Can’t wait to watch this video! My weekend project is to put together some shelves and a popcorn machine for our upstairs game room (we don’t have basements here so most people have a game/flex room that they use instead). We originally made it like a theater room but decided to put in a bar and make it a proper game room. Right now, it’s a wreck as I have moved furniture out of the way and have popcorn machine parts and instructions laid out everywhere hahaha!!! But my goal is to finish it and put it all back together today. Also going to be shampooing and deep cleaning the carpet in this room as well. So I need some JAMIE MOTIVATION today 😊

Dear Jamie! Dry air is often the cause of nosebleeds. When my son was seven years old, we solved this problem by buying an air humidifier. It needs to be turned on in the evening for 3 hours (usually from 9 to 12 when he fell asleep). Now he is 17 and everything is back to normal. I wish you good health! ❤❤❤

I don’t get nosebleeds but my mother used to get them badly and she found out that was exactly it. Like she has to sleep with a humidifier every night. Hopefully this helps her daughter, would be like the best $75 give or take spent. ❤

Hi Jamie! It’s been a long time since I’ve commented, life has been crazy! When I saw you were decorating for fall I had to watch! I’ve struggled with allergies my whole life. I had environmental allergy testing years and discovered I’m allergic to pretty much all outdoor plants and dust😝. I get allergy shots and they help a lot. Have you tried Vanicream for the dry patches? I had something similar and it turned out to be nummular eczema. My allergist recommended Vanicream and it helps a lot when the eczema flairs up. Not sure if that’s what you are experiencing but it’s definitely worth asking your allergist! Hope everything goes well with all your testing!! Thinking of you!

If you need to catch the fruit flies, apple cider in a jar with Saran wrap and an elastic. Poke holes with a knife and wait! I loved all the fall decorations! You might consider sending off a water sample to an independent test facility. There is an additive to some water systems that helps suspend iron in the water to reduce the yellowing in tubs. I had hives forever especially after taking a shower. House looks lovely as always. Hey those rogue onions (potatoes here) happen to the best of us! ❤

Happy Sunday! I did fall decorating yesterday. I still need and want to do some outdoor decor. Once my parents smelled something in their pantry and to find out it was a roasting pan with the lid on it and the pan was not washed and it had fat in it from a pork roast! It happens to everyone! Good luck in your allergy journey. Propolis can be found in candles, so definitely something to look at. As others have mentioned below, I turned out to be allergic to something called Kapok which they use to back carpets. As soon as I moved into a house with only wood floors, I was fine - even with area rugs. I also ended up allergic to dust and dust mites and the wall to wall carpets produced so much dust that they also contributed to my allergies in that way. Hopefully this round two of testing will provide answers. There are so many things in our environments these days, it's not surprising that it's hard to track down. Love the fall vibes!

My brother used to have really bad nose bleeds. He had his nose cauterized and it has helped him a ton. Praying that you get relief with your allergy tests. I want to get mine done so bad. I love your Fall decorations. Most of mine are homemade by my best friend. Also, don't feel bad about the onion. We have an issue with mice since we live in the country. We had a sticky trap in our guest bedroom in our basement and I forgot about it. Just say the whole basement smelled awwwwful.

Hi Jamie, I always look forward to your videos. I agree with you that you will probably find something environmental that is causing your problems. Off the top of my head, I’m thinking rugs or flooring. I remember when you said you went away on vacation and didn’t have any problems until you returned home. Something in the house seems to be the culprit. Once you find out, I hope it is an inexpensive and easy fix. Maybe it isn’t that bad right now because you are outside more in the summer.
