New 2024 Honda Freed - Compact Spacious Family MPV

The new Honda Freed MPV has been revealed ahead of its market launch in Japan next month. The Honda Freed is a popular three-row minivan from the Japanese carmaker that's sold in multiple international markets including a few in the ASEAN region.
The small three-row minivan adopts styling cues inspired by the larger Step WGN. It is available in standard Air and rugged Crosstar versions, offering the option between gasoline and self-charging hybrid powertrains.
the next-gen Honda Freed measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, and 1,755 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,740 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the MPV is 45 mm longer while the rest of the dimensions remain unchanged.
The new Honda Freed is a completely overhauled model and looks more striking than its predecessor. It comes in two versions - Air and Crosstar. The Freed Air has a simple and practical appearance with horizontal lines and a large glasshouse while the Freed Crosstar sports a more rugged look with a distinct grille and bumper designs, unique alloy wheels, faux brushed aluminium inserts, fender extensions, and roof rails.
Both modifications of the compact van can be six-seater with separate seats in the second row and a two-seater sofa in the third row. But only the Honda Freed Crosstar can also offer a five-seat configuration with a second-row sofa and an unusual two-level trunk, which was carried over from the previous generation. This compact van has a very low floor level in the rear overhang and allows you to install a durable shelf on top of the luggage niche (it can be turned into sleeping places). Such a low floor makes it possible to create special versions, common in Japan, for transporting disabled people in wheelchairs: for this purpose, a retractable parapet is also equipped in the stern.
The redesigned cockpit has a larger free-standing infotainment display and a smaller digital instrument cluster positioned closer to the driver. Practicality-wise, Honda designers enlarged the tray on the dashboard and added roof-mounted climate vents for the rear passengers
Like its predecessor, the new Freed is offered in petrol and hybrid versions, both with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Honda has not yet revealed all the technical details,
In the first case, we are probably talking about the previous 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine (131 hp), coupled with a CVT. The second option involves the e:HEV system, which is based on a 1.5-liter engine working in tandem with two electric motors.
The market debut of the third-generation Honda Freed compact van in Japan is scheduled for the coming months. Prices and detailed specifications will be announced at that time.
