I’ve got a 22 Rebel 1100. Bought it brand new. First thing I did was install mini-floorboards, then a power commander 6 , which REALLY helped. Upgraded to an ECU flash. Different bike now. This new TFT looks awesome, I’d swap it out

Good changes to the 1100 to make it a little more comfortable. I put 4” Rox bar risers, T-Rex foot peg extenders, and a Corbin seat on my ‘21 and now it’s quite comfortable for my 6 foot body.

I have the Rebel 1100DCT and I agree about the low speed handling. It is always a bit challenging pulling up to a gas pump. It is even more challenging doing a tight radius U-turn. Throttle control is touchy. When you take off in a tight space requiring a turn, keep feet down. Other than that I love the bike overall.😎
@EvanEdwards
@EvanEdwards 25 күн бұрын
Which is odd, as people often say to use the rear brake at low speeds, which would keep your feet up. I have been waiting on the 2025 announcement to get one. I half thought it would be another "nearly identical" model and I'd just get a 2023/2024 sitting in a dealership. Turns out, it's worth it. Especially since I had sat on one with a forward control kit and thought it would be necessary given my height. I'll have to give the new triangle a go before modifying.

They need to rotate the radiator and take the exhaust down both sides of the rear wheel on the 1100 Rebel. The current layout just does not look good for adding hard bags. Everything just looks off on this bike. They really need to look at the Indian Scout/Springfield layout to sell more of these.
@jlrutube1312
@jlrutube1312 22 күн бұрын
Yes, it could look a little better but it's more expensive to get the Springfield type of look. I think Honda wants to give you good performance in a cruiser at a fairly cheap price point.

I have to admit I don't like the new dash. I'd rather have a pair of analog gauges for the speedometer and tachometer with maybe a small LCD displays at the bottom of each one with a few small tidbits of information like clock, engine temp, gear indicator, fuel gauge, and odometer. If there's enough room on the small display you can throw in the volts. I should count my blessings though... It appears at least they didn't make a throttle by wire yet.

I wish they’d put nicer looking stock exhausts on both models. Surely by now word must have got round to Honda that these are what let the looks down. I’ve had a 500 rebel for two years now. Swapped out the exhaust for a V&H which looked great but was too loud for me and the neighbours at 5am. Quickly put the stock one back on.

The new Rebels look nice, although I don't know why these bikes are branded as cruisers when they're really standards. Be nicer if they moved to belts or, better yet, shafts.
@jlrutube1312
@jlrutube1312 29 күн бұрын
My last two bikes were shaft. I hated that little bit of play in the works that shafts have which gives you that little bit of lash when you go on and off the throttle. I have a chain bike now and I am enjoying it more in spite of the extra work involved. Of course, if you let the chain get loose you will have the lash too. I had a belt bike once and it was probably the best of all options. You only have to replace a belt probably once or twice in the entire life of the bike. Plus it has no lash and no mess.

I don't like how they are further separating 1100 and 500. The former is a lot better with a better new screen, better pegs and bars position. The silver touring variant looks great, but its only available for 1100. Why? People have no problem touring on smaller bikes, they are just leaving it up to the aftermarket addons.

CMX500 is very nice bike but it have few ergonomics issues. Seat is uncomfortable - not becasue hardness but shape. Second issue are pegs and exhaust - it is difficult to have comfortable position at stoplight - either exhaust or peg is in the way so you have to put leg much more outside which is strange and unnatural. They will not fix it with foam change... Otherwise very nice bike and engine - but becasue of this issues I much more preffer CB500F

Be nice if Honda considered "touring" to be something of actual mileage. Their tank capacity is 3.6 gallon. I'm sorry, but anything short of 17L isn't going to be too touring inspired. Other than that, happy to see they opened up the ergonomics somewhat. I've sat on the 1100 and I felt a little cramped at 6ft-2. For a cruiser motorcycle, this thing hits a lot of marks. It's quick to boot.

Such a shame the 1100 isn't A2 compliant. Almost all Harley's softail lineup is A2 compliant, so are all the Indian scouts (aside from the 101). I'm getting into riding soon and I am NOT interested in smaller bikes like the 500 when there are options like the scouts and sportsters. Granted they cost more, but that's not really the point when you're looking for cruisers. What is the audience for this rebel 500 ? I have seen a few where I live and they all look so small and cramped. Not that the 1100 is that much larger but at least it doesn't feel like a toy (again, compared to the competition when you're looking for mid-size cruisers). And it has all the bells and whistles like DCT that the 500 hasn't. I thought Honda would take the chance of the update to make its bigger sibling also A2 as to offer something to grind. But no, you younglings should stick with bikes that can't go on the highway for more than a minute, unless you want to ride an ADV of course. Then, options are virtually unlimited. Sigh.

Well I've seen a few vlogs and reviews discouraging this. I suppose you mileage may vary depending where you're from, but in Europe a sustained 130 km/h on highways doesn't look like a pleasant ride, neither for the bike or the rider. You need a bit more oomph and comfort
