I almost exclusively use a carolina rig when I fish. You only use 1 swivel, not 2, that is excessive. You do not use pegs for the weight. Also you want a 3 way swivel, and one side of the swivel is a snap, the other 2 are rings. The main line goes to the 1st ring. A weight of your choice goes on the snap and can easily and quickly be changed. You make like 6 or 7 leaders. The leaders should be about 3.5 feet long. Some of the leaders should be set with weightless hooks for soft plastics. Some should be set with bait hooks. Some should be set with a snap for lures like spoons or crankbaits or whatever lure you like. I recommend trolling spoons as they work great. The C rig brings light spoons to any depth you like. I fish in the ocean from a kayak. The ability to fish with minimal gear is great. The ability to fish with baits and lures is great. If you do it right you can bring 2 small plano boxes, 1 with C rig stuff and the other with a few spoos and soft baits. I bring 1 pole, with 50 lb mono as I like to go ultralight. 50 lb mono is lightweight in the ocean. With 1 rod and 2 plano boxes (I usually skip live or dead bait) I can travel very light and I almost never break off and lose my rig. Done right you can fish all day long from 1 C rig and you travel very light. drift fish with a C rig to cover literally miles of ground troll for exact and slow placement of your bait switch between bait and lures in seconds increase or decrease weights in seconds use strong equipment (if need be you can use a finesse leader easily) tip..... a bullet weight with a ring on 1 side and a barrel swivel on the other is fantastic....... instant C rig right there and it keeps things like spoons from wrecking the line.....

Been fishing a c rig for 20 plus years and never used two swivels lol one swivel set up similar to t rig but swivel just adds a leader and a slower fall ratio. Also use beads and sometimes bead with a clacker. You can also put in a weight stop above weight just a short distance so the weight isn't free to run way up the line but maybe 4 to 6in. Maybe the two swivels is a northern thing lol idk

Carolina rig tips I’ve found, go heavy on the weight, more bottom contact and longer casts are better. 3/4 is ideal for me even in ponds, I love it in the summer with a big junebug worm, you can definitely replace the top swivel with a stopper no problem, and I sometimes go stopper, weight, stopper, hook that way I can have any leader length I want (usually 2 feet for castability but sometimes up to 5), or move the bottom stopper all the way to the knot and it’s a Texas rig which can be either pegged or free. with that one set up you can fish deep open water with a Carolina rig, sparse shallow cover with either Carolina or Texas rig and flip heavy cover with a pegged Texas rig on the same rod without retying.

Storage is important and typically overlooked haha, I certainly tend to grab more baits and lures then I have the space to carry. As a shore angler I only take what I can carry around without tiring myself out needlessly. I needs more jerkbaits, they look fire!

Many moons ago we fished the Carolina rig in NC, only used one swivel or no swivel...definitely the best river/current set up. The clout ott to do well, definitely want that junebug red!

The bandito bug is by far the best thing googan sells! I've fished both the bandito bug and the prawn a lot this last year in several different ways and I love both but the bandito bug seems to have more action. I do love the prawn for skipping around docks and shallow cover in their blue pearl color(don't remember the name). I think it's a good representation of a young bluegill and the bass just smoke it!
