Harley-Davidson introduced the first factory installed stereo in 1986 (I believe, can’t speak to the tour glide models). This started the long, downward decline where it now is more important to listen to the stereo than your motorcycle. There can be no plausible explanation for why somebody would think it a good idea to be on a Harley and blast the stereo so loud you can’t even hear the motorcycle running. Lastly, more proof the upcoming generation has to have constant audio/visual stimulation, incapable of simply being alone with their thoughts.
