@@photography632 Kharagpur is an industrial city and have large catching area like Digha, Jhargram, Bankura, some part of Purulia and Jharkhand, etc. Midnapore is also a twin city of Kharagpur... actually the same city just separated by a river. One public transport airport is needed there. Cost of building airport is also less compared to highway and railway.

@@photography632 Actually in west bengal, few airport is needed. Kolkata airport is also very small compared to other international airports. Second airport near kolkata, may be in Kalyani side, is needed. Few other smaller airports... like one will be near Malda and Raiganj, One in Coochbehar, One in Siliguri, One in Asansol, One in Kharagpur and One in Murshidabad will be okay for west bengal.
