absolutely love your content never got into modern myself, last time i tried to get into it was when i decided to slowly buy my way into a deck on august of 2019 and started with getting a playset of lootings, and then well so even as someone who has never touched the format your vids are really enjoyable

Thanks 😊🙏🏼 I stopped playing Modern for years after Twin got banned…I just couldn’t find a deck I liked. I moved across the country in 2021, and I started playing again as a way to meet people and be social - Modern was by far the most popular format in my new city. I got hooked, and haven’t stopped since 🙃

from my experience playing the deck in pioneer it's pretty much always right to hold back the loop until amalia untaps so that you can get maximum value from the wipe without giving your opponent the chance to put out a creature, since amalia doesn't have any evasion on her.

Always activate vial. Putting the creature into play is optional, you can activate to no effect, but any opponent has to treat every activation as though you're going to do something, which can bait plays or misplays they wouldnt have otherwise performed. Otherwise, love it.

Yea, when you’re making content, activating vial every end step isn’t great for business, despite it being correct to do. Good point though 🙌🏼

The funny counterplay is buffing Amalia to skip the 20 power mark. Because Amalia only wipes on exactly 20, this will create a infinite loop without an exit condition. Because your actions have to advance the game state you will be forced to mill the explored cards instead of keeping them on top of your library causing you to mill your complete deck (and drawing all lands).

@@Control4Daze Example: You combo. You reach 17 Power with Amalia. As a reaction on the next trigger your opponent casts Giant Growth on Amalia and pushed her to 20 power. Now when Amalia resolves she has 21 power and does not wipe the board. You would have to gain life 3 times in reaction to the GG to counter this or put a land on top somehow. If the opponents expects some top deck manipulation that would put a land on top of your library, he could wait for 18/19 power.

Yawgmoth evolution stopped it pretty hard though. Gg on your tournament win btw. Pilot + deck tier = outcome. I really don’t think yawgmoth is tier 1 but it sure took out a lot of tier 1 decks.
