Although maybe not, as the higher output is only available in this case through race start. Either way the nomenclature makes less sense every product launch, as now the E53 in any form makes more power than a new SL55, SL63, and GT63 😂

@@SamAbraham E53 is on par with SL55 and SL63 is faster in 0-60 and also SL63se is arriving this summer with 800hp which will eventually replace standard SL63. GT63se is also available.

@@jalis812 0-60 means nothing these days when an electric pickup truck can do 0-60 in 2 seconds lol. A hybridized 6 Mercedes 6cyl is not on par with a handbuilt twinturbo V8. Also, its the SL63 E performance, there is no SL63S. It will not replace the SL63 but be sold alongside it, sort of as a 65 replacement.

That Wagon is beautiful. Best Interior for the E-Class and plenty of Power. Honestly if Amg prices this cheaper than the new M5 i could see a huge market for this car. 585 HP is enough for 99% of People. And People love Inline 6 Engines when Bmw does them! Why not in an E-Class. I think it fits quiete well.

For all those that will probably never drive one. I was given one off these as a courtesy car, this thing is BALLISTIC! HAVING OWNED a 2018 E63s this feels soo nimble and the hybrid element means it accelerates unnaturally!! 🤣😂🤣 Had i not driven 1, i’d hate too! Its needs a Exhaust system for sure. Its sounds promising in Factory too 🤷🏽‍♂️

Great vid as norm, though the prev E53 had 451 bhp, not 429, I actually think it's a shame that the E53 has gone to plug in hybrid from mild hybrid, as someone who'd go for the estate, I would swap the loss of 150L of boot capacity for about 500bhp, especially if there is to be an E63. As E63 is bound to be a plug in hybrid as well, I think it a shame that you won't be able to get a Amg E class wagon with the full capacity boot.

The CLE is very sexy, but it lacks the additional power from the hybrid system and only has the C-level interior, so overall I'd say the E53 is the best AMG car (ignoring the AMG GTs) that you can currently buy plus it's actually also cheaper than the CLE and other ICE models where I live because you don't have to pay an expensive tax because it's a hybrid vehicle, so a win overall!

Happy its a 6 cylinder still. That plastic around the grill still looks odd. I guess one could get it body or chrome colored/ wrapped. Also a fan of the standard screen setup vs the 3 screen option. That estate has a nice booty.

My hunch is Mercedes will launch an E63, because of three reasons: 1. This new E53 simply cannot cut it as a flagship. It may not be able to compete with the old M5 Comp, let alone the one coming out later. 2. The new C Class and S Class have 63 versions, so it doesn't make sense to omit this one. 3. The E63 is probably the unofficial prime Mercedes performance badge. It's a favorite, so culling it would not be a good idea. My guess is: Mercedes will launch an 8cyl E63 with 800hp. But it will cost an extra 30k Pounds. This E53 will be priced close to the outgoing E63.

So, it weighs approx. 500kg more than my W212 E63S, which has the same power and more torque...I am not tempted to update at this time. Nice seats (I wish mine had nice seats ☹️), but the fairground ride interior also grates, I'm afraid - well prefer my real IWC clock!

I agree, looks really sharp, love the exterior design and love the interior of the wagon dash choice. AMG should of placed a toned down version of this performance i6 in the C63, but no, they chose to turn the C63 into a sales desaster, good for them, they’ll learn. Will the V8 return, I doubt it. Will they’re be a E63 come along? Of course it will, right after The E53 sales peak, because AMG loves to stiff their customers who think they just purchased the top dog model.
