Yes, safety and law and order are desired and perquisites for a functional society. However I think the Anambra government needs to exercise good judgement. Instead of demolishing these houses, it can renovate them and use these properties to house vulnerable communities-citizens such as the aged or widows or disabled veterans etc. I think that makes more sense than bulldozing them.

Too much noise. Odumeje would say that every Nigerian so long as the country is this way remains illiterate. The law that says they should be demolishing buildings is a useless law. First, the law is defective because you would have to prove the case in court before demolishing but no, they rely on judgements of the vigilante that also smoke weeds. Secondly, in a poor country like this where many people are homeless and even the govt lack structures and facilities for certain operations it constitutes huge waste to demolish. Again, if the number of guns in the hands of untrained young people is turning to something else. See how these huge bodied men are dressed like criminals and very soom they would start settling marriage issues and land issues with these guns, extorting money and even lending guns to criminals. After this administration the next governor may not revover all the guns and the crimes increase....
@anuamagwai13 сағат бұрын
You did not convince people with your narrative. Show us with the arrests and the footage. Why can’t you allow the court to convince the public that the house belongs to the unknown kidnappers. When will Nigerians understand and follow the standard of the civilized world ; rule of law. You have raised the possibility of people concluding that the house being demolished belongs to a perceived political enemy. Follow the court process.
