I hate to tell her this, there's no such thing as an HD or digital antenna, all intent of the same thing they're just a piece of metal that is tuned to a specific frequency. The antenna has absolutely nothing to do with the mode of the signal being transmitted through it. You could transmit HD through the old antenna as well it would just not be on the right frequency.
