Why do they insist on leaving the bottom part of the case wide open on the clear cases? That is what always turns me away from Apple's clear cases.

They do this because the clear case is much tougher than the silicone one. I think if they closed the bottom, the case would crack when putting it on or taking it off.

I always buy the clear case because I much prefer the open bottom for two main reasons: easier to swipe up and easy to tell which way up your phone is just by feeling it.

@@thedudekevnot really. Anything exposed long term over time is gonna build up small scratches from being exposed and going in and outside of your pocket.

Apple clear case is hard case. Is there a possibility of scratching the side frames of the phone when putting on and taking off the case?

I’ll have to order the clear one since the silicone ones are cheesy and the third party case companies probably haven’t figured out the capacitive button yet. The clear case looks cheap though. I’ll replace it as soon as I can…with a leather one!

Thank you for showing this!!!. OK!! Here are my thoughts. This case would be basically perfect. If that stupid open lip at the bottom wasn’t like that.. I cannot possibly get this case simply because of that. On a second note, I have to get a case that has the camera control button cover like this. Have you seen how stupid the cases look where there’s just an open cutout for the button!!!!!?? Spigen apple and Otterbox so far Are the only brands that offer that camera control button on specific cases…..that is a must have for me I do not want a cut out… i’m sure more will follow like last year with the action button. Also, I agree I wish the button wasn’t white. Clear would be perfect. But that’s probably not possible. The spigan camera control cover is also white but it also offers black along with the mag color to match their phone better. All in all I’m going with the Spigen clear case. It looks exactly like this. But without Apple’s stupid trademark open lip in the front. Again thank you for showing this… and to all the people saying don’t waste your money on this one to go with others that are cheaper….. I’ll tell you now….Apples clear case is known to be the only one that really doesn’t turn yellow overtime. Ok later y’all!!!

Does it still get super grimy from fingerprints and oil? The previous ones got disgusting if you didn’t wipe them down regularly, third party cases never have that problem

I’ve had the clear case on my 14 pro max for 2 years and it never scratched the exposed section. Upgrading to this exact same version on the 16 pro max.

@@garyhuang5336No the button coverings are silicone soft and basically don’t impact anything. You can still feel the actual phone buttons click when you press them, it’s just a layer of support and after 2 years of constant use they have held up well with no damage or wear.
