My guess is that originally at some point Arthur could get back into New Austin, probably after Guarma I'd assume. However they added the invisible sniper because the idea he can go there does kind of downplay how bad Blackwater was if you think about it. The reaosn I think that is because we do have a mission in New Austin as Arthur; the one breaking that guy out from the boat (I forget names; it's a Javier mission). It would make sense to use this to establish how you can't come here YET. At least in my opinion

In interviews, Roger Clark said him and Rob both did the voice lines for every stranger mission, even if it isn't available for arthur. So one of them did the mocap and they both did the voice lines

@@melodicsatisfactionproductions arthur has unique dialogue and drawings for everything in new austin. he even has lines for the folks in armadillo and a fisher of fish II has a fully rendered cutscene with arthur. but I think rockstar thought it would make players bored in the epilogue, so they decided to restrict new austin for john only so it would make more people play and finish the epilogue. in the mission where you fish with hosea and dutch, all of them actually talk about new austin, and arthur said something along the lines of "They've got pinkertons patrolling all over blackwater and the great plains. I don't see a reason to go back to new austin right now" with no mention of any lawmen patrolling new austin.

A tip for this is that the sniper always aims at the back of Arthur's head from the position of the camera, which is why he is keeping Arthur's head covered in the video

Just tried this today and I got next to the first bone shown here and Arthur just appeared on top of the bone. Fortunately I was able to hit the Square button for the bone before being shot. It appears Arthur is invincible while in the animation where he is writing the bone onto the note because he was fully exposed and the sniper kept shooting until he finished writing it down and was officially recorded. He died immediately after.

Nah, it's just a classic R* dilemma. They loathe putting any effort whatsoever into a single player game post launch _but_ they also hate the idea of players having unauthorized fun, especially in a single player game. And in true R* fashion the sniper is their attempt at walking that line. They've made it really annoying for players and they barely expended any energy to accomplish it without actually fixing the issue either.

I could careless about playing as John. I did a complete play through once. The moment Arthur see the sun or doesn’t, I’m out an new game started. I still can’t get the sombrero figured out. I've tried this about a dozen times with different routes and everytime I get close to a bone I get shot and killed. I think Rockstar programmed a code in to prevent players getting items as Arthur fairly recently. Did everything exactly as you did too.

@@Petkoholic In my opinion, the buggy is safer, by a mile. Only downside is the travel distance, but still worth it over the wagon. Also much easier to drive around in tight spots, ledges etc because its smaller and nimble.

did petko say the covered wagon can't be used for the bones? because that's not true at all. I got all of the bones in one run using the covered wagon. I would still use a buggy, but it's absolutely possible to get the bones with the wagon. also, to protect yourself from the hole, try to keep your camera to the left as much as possible, so that arthur isn't visible but you can still see daylight through the hole. also make sure the camera is up a little bit so that if the hole does point at arthur, it will only point as his torso.

Instead of putting roaming lawmen and the sniper in New Austin they could put the pinkertons and instead put the roaming lawmen in the Greet Plains and Tall Trees P.s. did you now that with an application called Save Wizard if used with rdr2 Save Editor you can swap character between chapters and epilogue

@@Yuyuyuyu7820 I figured it out a few months ago. You gotta keep the chest directly behind the wagon (leave enough room for Arthur to get behind the wagon and open the chest). Keeping the chest behind the wagon allows Arthur to get off on the left side. There’s a video on KZbin where a guy does it. I’d look it up before you try it. It’s called “RDR2-Explosive Slug Pamphlet Guaranteed-2nd Video” by Regina-phalange”

sometimes you will get unlucky but generally try to keep the pinkertons directly behind you. if they are at the sides, they can easily shoot a lantern out or destroy the wheel. when they're directly behind you, they will only aim for arthur. sometimes they might hit a wheel though but 99% of the time you'll be fine. to practice, try using the spawn buggy cheat to spawn the same buggy and try going through beachers hope until you get it right. also, spam left alt (or whatever the button is to extend the radar) to keep track of the pinkertons before they spot you

Guys, I think Rockstar knows all these..I am onto my last bone in Tumbleweed after dying on my 7th one. I tried hard and was careful and slow and ensure there is no lawman upon nearing Tumbleweed. However, in a split second, a lawman appeared and the whole place was ridden with lawmen all of a sudden and I tried hard to ride my buggy away but was eventually shot and burnt. This is ridiculous!

Lawmen still roam around New Austin. They can spawn out of anywhere and if they see you Pinkertons start spawning. You can still escape them by going off-roads. Gotta watch out for them. Always check your mini-map when riding.

Yes. This happened to me a few times too. I don’t know what causes it and how often it happens but as soon as you notice that you are getting shot just move the came above the buggy for a while and return it after a few seconds. This worked for me.

Sniper there is different. If you are on v. 1.00 I suggest using the original Angelo Bronte mission where you replay it, let the law see and after the game brings you back to the restoration point you can do whatever you want in New Austin.

Yes you can, with a lot more harder effort, but after you catch all fish it wont trigger the end of fishing mission. Only john can finnish it.

Yes you can. There is a secret path. I suggest loading an Epilogue save and checking it out first before you go there with the buggy.

I got it!!! Thanks! Used the camera mode as i didnt bother reloading john saves. Advice is to go along the line of change from cholla springs to rio bravo from the road until the way starts to ascend. Then easy peasy! Legend man

You have to be careful and look out on the minimap for the law. They spawn rarily however
