So glad Epic have been working on this - it's one area that was feeling left out in the cold and barely any big updates in ages!

Let's go bro! This is great. I've been showing your videos to my class mates at Full Sail University in my Game Design degree. I appreciate the work! I've been trying to get our professors to link your KZbin and their assignments right now they have some crappy ones linked

@@SmartPoly oh and if I ever repeat a comment. That's my fault. I have TBI so sometimes my memories leave me. Im saying that because after I read it I was like oh crap! I hope I haven't said this before on a different video lol

I've bought his course, if anyone wants a confirmation, its really f**ing good. You can however if you're skeptical of his course quality look at his 3 videos on Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Blueprints. Really good stuff, 100% Recommend. Smart Poly also in my top viewership, don't you dare stop making videos :P

One thing I have never really seen anyone delve into too deeply is actual server-side hosting a video games for multiplayer sessions. It seems to be a very big black box that no one wants to get into. I guess that's where the magic happens maybe you could touch upon that in some future date. Unreal does a great job of explaining its features and you do it even better job than they do but no one seems to say how you make it work with multiple computers in multiple players.

I can't find any videos on the modular cars thing they added in 5.5. In the UE 5 video showing the new features, Thay show a car getting wings added to it and then driving/flying the car. I'm wondering can you cover that since I can't find any videos about it.
@An0therR0gue4 күн бұрын
UE5 IDEA - so i have been looking for tutorials on stuff like automation/tycoom games to go with my survival game (would be a nice addon for your course smartpoly). you know, mining and crafting machines like in satifactory and foundry (buy not on their scale). maybe auto turrets etc.. have you also considered voxel terrains?

This is the type of feature I want. Less repetitive jobs and not more experimental graphics stuff that just consume processing

Thanks for the video, it was very informative! This is a feature I’d really like to use in a game! However, I’m wondering if it’s possible to automatically generate these nav links at runtime for certain buildings created by the player (for example, to allow an enemy to jump onto these buildings).
@joantonio63314 күн бұрын
In my game I am working on a proceduraly generated city (each new game has a different city) with mass AI and one of the challenges was to take into account the unbaked diffferent navmesh generated on the fly so I have to do lot of C++ magic... This pluging is a time saver (even though I succedded)

Poly can I kindly ask that you make a quick lesson on the proper process of debugging (complicated blueprints patterns in which the data flows through several steps involving several actors and interfaces) but getting unexpected results in the end, as a beginner my vision isn't really accustomed to unreal blueprint interface and so often miss things in plain sight, so many times I forget to hook up a line and go over it so many times but I fail to see it again and again. Please enlighten me, sir.

They Need to Stop adding Features and Fix it's buggy engine. Now that we are seeing AAA games start to come out using Unreal 5 we see how very badly optimized the engine is for PC. It's a horrible bloody mess it is!
@erasernox26114 күн бұрын
What fixes are you talking about?
@DivergentDroid4 күн бұрын
@@erasernox2611 Too many to list. Google Unreal Engine 5 optimization problems. There are tons of videos and articles on the subject.
@drumandbassob00073 күн бұрын
think you mean un-optimized , the engines fine if devs actually learn to use it and optimized their games instead of just saying you use dlss
@DivergentDroid3 күн бұрын
@@drumandbassob0007 No, I meant badly optimized. You blame it all on the dev teams and nothing on the engine.. stop being such a fan boy and wake up. The engine has problems it's all over the internet.
@drumandbassob00072 күн бұрын
@@DivergentDroid not i fan boy i simply use the engine and as of 5.3 they engine runs faster because they did a big multicore update and also did work on the gpu. The finals ran well from day one why can that game run well where as others cant. The features unreal has are great but they come at a cost nanites more expensive than using lods if you have a optimised scene ,lumens expensive but screen space lighting looks similar but gives a lot more performance but you have to bake lighting which takes longer.The worst think i deal with is the anti aliasing you have to do a lot of work to reduce motion blur and stop hair/wires ect from flickering
