@@MattStefanFishinges, it's really "affordable". China is desperate for mfg exports. It's what the Third Reich really would have preferred too. However, there's at least two reasons I can immediately think of that makes it a necessity to make the price point so "competitive"; first, there's the public reaction to it being a knockoff, second, the reality of having to also compete against made in China AND SOLD BY CHINA knockoffs on Amazon, especially the online retailers IN CHINA such as Wish and TEMU. There's no doubt innovation is taking a big hit from the Brain Drain. I can't blame you Matt. You are Berkley' boy after all. The more normalized relationships are with genocidal regimes the less Berkley and other Megalo Corps have to worry about the Ill will and humanitarian ramifications. It's a narrowing line that Berkley is straddling. As consumers, we need to keep our demands of these "service providers" communicated. If we don't, we only become partners and participants to legitimizing the weakening of our Constitutional priorities. Once the US no longer stands for human rights, civil liberties, and real equality through transparency, it's going to become a very slippery downward slope for the entire world. I really hate to think all the sacrifices made with American lives since the Civil War only amounted to a hill of beans, in the near future. Our honesty, integrity, and identity as Americans are the only things that can save and preserve the foundations that made our people and country so great in the first place. If we can't do it for ourselves, we should be doing it for our future generations. Proverbs 17:16 "Of what use is money in the hand of a fool, since he has no intention of acquiring wisdom?"

I’m pretty clear in saying it is “one of the first soft glidebaits on the market” and not the first soft glide bait. There have been several made in the past but most of those did not withstand the test of time. The Berkley sebile magic swimmer introduced in 2010 could easily by considered as on of the first. I’m sure there are lots more as well that I’m not aware of but just to be clear I’m not saying it’s the first by any means.

What I like about it is it looks like it could skip well and that it will be silent . I 've noticed on lakes that I fish frequently the I have to work a little harder for my glide bait fish than a few years back and I believe the clacking sound most of them make when they hit the joints have conditioned them some what and will at times make them wary . That said I don't see the 9" as just a Musky bait , as I've caught a lot of Bass on the 8" Magdraft and even the 10" . This bait looks like it folds a lot which will probably make it appear to be a little smaller than it really is . That said I don't have these yet and I appreciate your thoughts on this . Matt, I had high hopes for the Nessie after seeing your video and one from Ike. I assume the 7 and 9” models are better but the 5” model just does not swim properly. It doesn’t really glide and the only way I get it to work at all is to add a light nail weight & fish it on a light-medium spinning reel with 6-8 lb FC. It can only be fished like a twitch bait or fluke and does not swim like a glide bait. I have heard this from others who just go their hands on the 5” model. Your thoughts? Have you fished the 5” model?

Shane - MD, United States November 16, 2023 I'm hoping this only applies to the 5" model due to its short size, but the one I tried had zero action whatsoever. Before tying it on I watched a few KZbin videos of people using it, and it is supposed to have a gentle, enticing "s" motion when retrieved slowly. It even zig-zags when retrieved at a high speed. My bait did neither of those two things - when I reeled it in it just tracked back in a straight line, with no side to side action at all. Themtnghost - MD, United States November 15, 2023

All the people saying that it's a knockoff bait are gonna be the same ones buying them by the truckload. Personally I've been in line for it for about 2 weeks already and it doesn't come out for a couple more months. But here I am camping at the tackle store waiting. Lol.

These are G Flag's and they also don't work as good as the bait they knocked off.....please don't say they are the 1st soft glide baits. You know better than that being a tackle junkie...I usually love everything you say but to say this is one of the 1st and acting like it's new is disingenuous 👎

🍺undergroundbee. I hope all is well. It’s not “THE” first but it’s certainly on of the 1st and it’s also definitely new( from Berkley). I believe that’s what Matt was trying to convey. 🤠

I didn’t say the first. I said “one of the first”.

So Berkley ripped off another company's lure design. The Flag by Grow Inc Japan.

Berkley ripped off @growdesignworks. They came out with a soft glidebait before anyone. SMH, Just like they ripped off megabass...
