My husband had a VW when I started dating him..that was 42 years ago..I believe it was a 71'.... I absolutely fell in love with it..I'd like to find another one that we could restore..... Good Luck with your restoration. Will be watching... PS.. I love the sound, the smell, everything about a VW.

Lol, that “smell of gas and oil and danger” is what makes a bug a bug! My wife loves that smell. I just love driving mine. I’ve said it dozens of times too, I rather drive my baby every day than a brand new car. It’s real bare bones down to earth driving driving!

Who does she think she is, I had a woman from the next street here in the uk complain to the local council, an official came to my home and said they had a report of a abandoned vw beetle outside my home, I told him it’s all legal, he said he can clearly see it’s not abandoned and legal, I told him I know who she is, he then left, so we have many KARENS here too, I hope you keep your baja and enjoy it, never mind that Karen, she clearly is frustrated, lol

Lucky man. My family had 3 Kombi's growing up and now I own a VW Caddy. It's not quite the same but it's still a van. I want a real kombi like my parents had.

Having been pulled over once, and detained once after a complaint was filled, for merely driving a car that "didn't match the neighborhood", in two states about 20 years apart, all I can say is that every town has an Elm St.

And that’s exactly why I moved out to the country. Just make sure your Baja has an open stinger from now on. And maybe drive by her house a few times every day Just so she knows it’s not an abandoned vehicle.

Have a small fleet of cars myself, rotate which one I drive every few days to avoid Karen. Neighbor has a Camaro & Silverado & somebody has been leaving notes on his cars. The wild Karen roams far & wide.

I absolutely love my Baja beetle. I've installed a TD04 turbo on a 1776cc engine. I run about 10psi through dual Kadron carburetors. If you're baja isn't upsetting Karens, it's not a real Baja. Being the only trans girl in my tiny rural town driving the only desert camo baja beetle is just a blast. People can't hate you when you have such unique wheels.
