I got the NB SC Trail earlier this week and have put 20 miles of vigorous runs in it and it's awesome. I'm an avid and fairly serious runner who runs 60~70 miles per week with about a third of those miles on the trails with lots of steep heels. It's a trail shoe designed to go fast and for trail ultra marathon races ranging from 50 to 100 miles. It wasn't designed and made for casual wear but I guess it works fine for that too. It has nice soft cushioning for the long runs that last a whole day or two but is also very speedy and propulsive with the Energy Arc carbon plate that is forked in the forefoot to handle the uneven terrains of the trails. I have a pretty decent collection of trail running shoes from Saucony, Hoka, Salomon, Speedland, inov-8, and Adidas but this is my first NB trail shoe and I think it just may become my favorite as it is so versatile and can handle all kinds of terrains really well. It's also great for running on the road (tarmac, pavement, asphalt, etc.) as the outsole is thin and the lugs are fairly low, which brings down the weight. It does remind me of the Rebel v3 and, to some degree, the SC Trainer that I have as well, but it's got its own thing because the stack height and the heel-to-toe drop are different and, obviously, the outsole. It feels like a light and nimble road daily trainer that's been tailored for the trail. It handles technical trails very well although I'm not sure how it'd do in wet conditions (I'm in SoCal). I'm a runner so I don't really care about how these running shoes feel when walking or standing but the SC Trail looks like a shoe I can take and wear anywhere, like go on a trail run by the beach and then go to the pier for dinner without changing into casual wear shoe. Also, runners never call their running shoes "sneakers".😉

@@LucaPS3 I've now logged 200 miles as I just haven't been able to stop running in the SC Trail. I got a second pair when NB strangely had them on sale at 15% so soon after the release. Then, NB put them back on the original $200 price and the Running Warehouse had it on sale for $170, so I got a half-size down at TTS. So, I got two pairs at half-size up over my TTS and one pair at my usual size (US men's 8) and they both work well. For long races with foot swell, I'd recommend going half-size up. The thing is that the upper is stretchy so I've been able to stretch out the width and volume of the forefoot and toe-box area by stuffing the shoes with socks and leaving them overnight or a few days. I wear thicker and more padded socks with the half-size up pairs and thinner socks for the TTS pair. Overall, I think going half-size up makes more sense.

Even if you don't trail run, with fall and winter coming up it's good to see shoes like this for people who want a good traction, water resistant comfy shoe for bad weather. It would definitely be good to see some comparisons in the future, because that's the next pair of shoes I'll be looking into👍.

I bought the heirro v7 gortex and I love them. I just use them for walking in wooded areas because I find walking shoes too hard. Comfortable shoe, very decent width, totally waterproof (although I did go on a very wet/muddy walk and the top half of my feet were soaked because it was deep sludge) but the shoes cleaned up very nicely!

Yup bought the gortex as well for fall. I also have the NB trail more V3 in wide and use it for my Sunday hike which is extremely steep. It grabs extremely well and I have no foot stress at all which might be bad, because my foot doesn't get any impact/exercise that I notice. Switched over from Keens. The Keens are comfortable but I get foot stiffness and some pain after my hike. Since I am over 55 the NB are the most comfortable, maybe too comfortableif thats a thing. Will use the Keens as winter boots.

I just got the hierro gtx 7s in the color way that hes has. Personally for me I would rather wear under armour shoes when it comes to how the logo’s look. I just don’t like a huge N on my shoe I think it’s sorta obnoxious and looks like the letter Z if you look hard enough.

The Asics Trabuco Max 2 has a massive stack height, I wonder why NB couldn't do it? Maybe the fuelcell isn't as stable as the FF blast+ is? I'd love to see a comparison between those two. I haven't purchased the trabuco yet, I really want a wide version :/

If you haven't tried anything from Holo yet I would give their Nephelae trail shoe a try. Some of the best cushioning at $100 or less IMO.
