Hey man these builds look great. We finally achieved our dream of buying a home last year and now i want to work on another dream which is to have a few chickens so we can get our own fresh eggs. I am in the planning stages and right now i am looking at coop videos. I am really liking your builds because the size is perfect for what i am looking for! I am in a city in florida where were only allowed 5 chickens BUT hey its better than nothing and should be enough for the 5 of us! Will keep watching your videos thank you!

hey man that's awesome... did you see my other coop building video... it would probably be more efficient for 5 chickens unless your trying to separate them

@@thevaughnhomestead yup I saw one thats perfect for 5 chickens and I think its what i am going for. Currently making a list of materials i need!

I collect eggs daily, so the nesting buckets are not actually intended for them to hatch eggs in, just lay in

It's a very interesting design, the only con I see is the sharp sheet metal going down to kid height, kids and sharp edges don't mix.
@thevaughnhomestead Жыл бұрын
Yea I’ve been trying to figure out some nice way of covering them without it looking ugly, but luckily we don’t have kids right now so no worries at the moment 😂

inside coop, vertical tin could cause a flying chicken toe to get stuck or broke, maybe rip a pine board to cover exposed tin edge. really like your coop design, good job.

Love your design it’s the best one I’ve seen for bantams. Could you just list all the wood needed to make it . I could figure it out by the dimensions, trying to make one this weekend.

20-2x4x8 5-2x4x12 (these make all the legs and boards connecting from top to bottom, just cut them at 63” which will make it 6’ tall

Do you buy the metal sheets in sheets of 5 . If so where do you buy them ?
@thevaughnhomestead Жыл бұрын
@@CorneliusMaximus69 I buy the tin from Home Depot, they sell them in individual sheets, I buy 2- 8ft sheets for the back and 10- 6ft sheets which do the sides and roof and the pieces inside
