I Made several times purple pasta sauce using beet for my host kids and honestly they loved it, beets don’t really have a strong flavor they are just a little sweet and if you sauté them with some onion and then make it a purée and combine with the Mac and cheese they are delicious

Definitely had a few dirty jokes my little ones didn’t get. My teen and I however were laughing so much. Also beet mac and cheese can taste really similar to the regular! Just add slightly more cheese, black pepper and and make sure u strain the beet purée and it tastes really good!

You wouldn’t be able to taste the beets if done right. It’s just for the color, beets have been used as a coloring agent for hundreds of years now. You’d just put the puréed beats in a cheesecloth n put it in while the pasta cooks and/or cheese sauce. Once you get to the color u like. You remove the cheesecloth. ❤😊
