What makes you think a violin with a modern set-up, and metal strings, is 'baroque' ? Baroque period: c.1600-1750. Paganini 1782 - 1840. Why bow with your left hand ? Chinrest was not used during the baroque period. Further research needed.

So here's the thing. The violin in the video is a bench copy of a baroque violin made by Andrea Guarneri. It was bought by a local musician who plays in a baroque ensemble. I'm testing the violin to make sure I like the sound. After this video it received a new rosewood fingerboard (shorter) and matching tailpiece. There's already a wedge on the neck. I'm well aware of the chin rest. I'm using this violin with MY set up because I'm not a baroque player - so yes, authentically there would be no shoulder rest, chin rest, fine tuner. Something you can't see the is the bass bar on the inside of the violin: it is a shorter bass bar as fitted to violins of that era. I'm very familiar with the workings of a Baroque violin, I'm a luthier myself. Not much further research needed. Also I'm not bowing with my left hand, the camera in the computer unfortunately chose to flip the image and I'm not a tech expert so I uploaded it this way anyway. The reason why the video title is "New Baroque Violin" is so my client [and others] could see the violin in action by searching for that title on my channel.
