Yes. That is the advantage of using the same smith and same reamer for every barrel...

For a Foundation, not so much since they are rear heavy from the start.

I'm looking forward to the video also. However, for a competition rifle that will be fired primarily from a supported position and bipod, I personally want a slightly forward heavy balance in a neutral position. It's more stable on a bipod, and it balances better under cheek pressure and recoil. All the pictures of the guns you see perfectly balanced on a rail or pole are actually off balance under recoil or when cheek pressure is applied. They also have a tendency to bounce more when shot from a bipod.

Heck, I think one of his take-offs would still be pretty decent for most us us who shoot less and don't have as critical accuracy needs. I'm even thinking the front 14" would make a dandy encore/xp barrel. Shouldn't be as much fire cracking up there.

I feel like once you are getting serious in PRS you should be buying at least 2 barrels at a time. If you don’t know the reamer etc, then one barrel can make sense

The target will tell you. When I was actively competing it wasn’t the score but the ’x’ count that told me the barrel was done.

Your groups will start to open up. You can try tweaking your load/seating depth, but when you can no longer get the barrel to shoot to your accuracy standards it is time to replace it.

this what i did I has a savage model 11 apart i was camping I came home weather warning (trees fell in area) the gunsmith called me when i was home the 260 rem barrel almost new but it looks iffy in side threw there bore scope ok i be down Tuesday with a axis 6.5 creed-more barrel it had about the same number rounds threw it before i changed to 284x6.5 ok muzzle break''s both rifles threw coy V is 2400 for 284 x6.5 out of 4 or 5 around there ok i did 6.5 creed- more 2384 all i shot i walk shut the coy off clear it shot to same reading i changed load 120 to 129 & 140 old loads I had for the old rifle barrel was on! i tore up my arm real good too!

How many rounds would you say it takes on average to "season" a barrel before proceeding with real load development?

In my experience (I'm not a competitive shooter) it really depends on the barrel.. I shoot mostly factory barrels and they can vary from 20-100 rounds before they "settle in" .I've been cleaning with JB bore paste (sometimes during initial testing, sometimes before even shooting the rifle) and it seems to speed up the process. My guess would be custom barrels would go much quicker, especially if they were hand lapped. The Tubbs system would probably do it in 20 rounds IMO, but I haven't tried that yet..

It is a mechanical finishing process. Keith at KW Precision has built special machinery to accomplish it. It's smooth to the touch, but awesome looking.

Well two main ingredients are Gluconic Acid and lactic acid and who knows how strong of a concentration it is? Iron Oxide is one of the things it is meant to clean from plumbing and bath surfaces. This might surprise some people but steel even stainless steels main ingredient is iron. I would also assume most people are either over using it or they are letting things soak for to long. You simply can not trust people to use anything responsible. Ammonia type cleaners got a bad reputation years ago because people where soaking barrels in 20% solutions of ammonia. So now people think all ammonia cleaners for copper fouling and other cleaning must be bad. Sadly most people are also liars and when caught causing damage to something they own will deny any wrong doing and attempt to push it off on to someone else. So the two biggest problems are ignorant people and liars! Problems that have caused issues within society for as long as man has had more than 2 members on the planet!
