This battery is lower in price than the budget server rack battery if you include the cost of the rack ($279 per kWh VS $283 per kWh) . But if you buy a single server rack battery, it will be cheaper by a little bit ($269 per kWh). So if you are buying a full stack, it is cheaper than budget priced server rack batteries. Two of those batteries would power my house for more than a day by themselves. No solar panels needed I live next to the ocean in South Florida.... I've looked it up before and they claim we get 6 hours of sunlight when it comes to solar panels, but I don't know how that works because it's sunny from 7:00 in the morning until 8:30 p.m. everyday in the summer so I would think you'd have to get more than 6 hours of solar panel. Maybe only 100% output for 6 hours? But my house uses 21 kW hours a day That's with two air conditioners. A hot water heater, two fridge and freezers, microwave, oven, lights, TVs computers

Yes, and it comes at a great cost. I went through four different chargeverter 5000 units before I got to their second version where they fixed most of the initial bugs. There were so many things wrong with the initial units that never should have left the prototype bench, but they were still selling them to clear out inventory before they got the better units in stock.

I like it a lot. My concern with these big batteries vs. server rack is that IF they fail, you are out 1) a lot of money, 2) a huge battery to be hefted and shipped 3) a Huge portion of your battery capacity is offline. Having a bunch of smaller server racks seems a lot more practical for DIYers for whom this kind of battery is marketed.

I built 2 batteries for my RV with EVE LF280K cells. Custom 3D printed cases with a JBD 200 Amp Smart BMS. I am currently building 2 more and they will have heating pads built in (will redo the first 2 to add the heating pads when we get back from the NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway). So, my RV will have the same capacity as that battery, 14.3KWatt Hours. Have a 3,200 Watt inverter hard-wired into my RVs power cord storage compartment so I can plug it in and easily run one roof AC all day while we are driving. Have three 200 watt solar panels that I need to mount before we head to Vegas. Will be nice to only pull about 70 Amps from the battery during the heat of the day while running the AC unit and the fridge. Have learned so much watching your videos. Definitely have helped me in my builds.

I wanted a bit more factor of safety, and off the shelf reeved lower hooks were not available, so I took a side grinder to a rope pulley sheave, and made a reeved lower hook to double the lift capacity. I then replaced the chain for a longer 4mm chain and now have a 500 pound capacity, 10' lift chain hoist that I can run off of the Bluetti EB3A. And it was less than $200.

I just had an EG4 18kPV with 6 EG4 LL (v.2) 48V batteries installed along with my solar panel ground mount system and I ran into the exact same issue with the communications between the inverter and batteries. The installer couldn't figure it out right away and suggested that I contact Signature Solar. I was able to figure out the issue after watching a KZbin video about the problem and everything worked just fine. The day with the EG4 LL batteries was to temporarily switch the ID # from 1 to 64, then turn the battery off and then back on (including the breaker) and then push in the third button for 5 seconds to get the protocol switched over to Lux. After doing that you switch it back to ID# 1 and it works. I totally agree that a quick guide would make life simpler for users and yes, it was a pain in the butt. TGYT (Thank God for KZbin)..

Nice, solves my gripe with server rack batteries where my first ever impression is lack of capacity. However, the price is not much cheaper than buying three server rack batteries, as buying a single unit is to save on cost. Maybe there's slight edge to weather proofing? I guess if one does not have indoor space for batteries, there is nothing else to get but this.. Another thing to make this more compelling due to its size is electric vehicle DC charging (through DC voltage conversion not AC) maybe through a separately sold module or another model.

My only complaint (on paper) is that the batteries require 12" spacing in-plane (along wall), and don't support perpendicular stacking. My personal need is something that can be rotated 90º from the wall and be stacked, but I get that this is a big ask. (Logic being that I don't need lower front clearance on the inverter, so 3-4 units can easily match up with a single inverter.) I am a big fan of the larger batteries. I think 100Ah @48V is going to be obsolete pretty quickly.

I love nerds. I wish I could be one, but I'm the "jack of all trades, master of none" type. So when I need a master in DIY Solar... you are the nerd I turn to.

It would be nice if their 12kw inverter can have it settings changed to only charge at 10kw max or draw that.

Hey Will. Would really appreciate a follow up video on these power pro batteries. I am going to buy batteries. In a couple weeks. I just purchased the 18k and 30 390watt panels. Also can I hook up 5 of them to the 18k for 71kwh of battery storage?

Any chance you could show an AC coupled setup? This form factor could actually work for me.

It's rated for outside, does that mean it can stand up to the Vegas heat?

Or extended -15F in northern New England..

Great video as always! I love the heated battery... but I wonder how well this would do in a hotter environment outside. It can get up to 120F here in the southern CA desert! I would accept one as a proving site! LOL

That kind of heat will certainly lower the lifespan of the cells!

Really interesting stuff Will - thumbs up buddy 👍👍👍

Dude,, that was some work for this review. I’m always worried about hurting the lifespan if I had this outside or in my Phoenix garage.

Heat will w/o a doubt accelerate their useful lifespan!

Outdoor... depending on where you live. I'm not sure it will appreciate being outside my house at --36C during winter.

QUESTION2: Is there a way to use these batteries in parallel with eg4 LL v2 battery racks? if yes how?

Manual says that will void the warranty.

Cool, hope it gets UL9540 2nd edition as an ESS with the 18kpv...soon! If not looks like Solark for me
