Definitely took note of that. They already told us it’ll be live service so we know those things are coming, I think by this they mostly mean how we’ll play. Like they’ll probably give us the basic BF experience with the usual modes, then “expand” into other types of modes to capture trends like BR, Extraction modes, etc

What needs to be said that most people will gloss over is the mechanics and player movement. We dont need sprinting, we dont need sliding and we definitely dont need "tactical" character movements. There is nothing realistic about your character flailing around and sliding all over the map. Soldiers/marines also dont run with their guns pointed to the sky when they sprint. The barrel ALWAYS stays pointed at the enemy. I played 2042 for like 20 minutes and never returned, because it was obvious to me that EA and DICE just wanted a modern CoD ripoff with the blatantly obvious 1:1 copy of the player movement and mechanics. Battlefield 1 is still perfect in regards to movement and mechanics. We need that in a new Battlefield. Not this garbage that makes your character look like an airsoft nerd larping as a US marine.

If they are true to their words of going back to what makes Battlefield enjoyable, I have to see it to believe. 2042 is okay. But it is not for everyone nor for core Battlefield fans. The large scale maps with the 128 player count alongside specialists I think were the sole reason as to why so many checked out. They did sort of fixed the specialist thing by putting them in the classic Battlefield class system... but specialists still existed. Not to mention a miriad of other things like poor map balancing for certain game modes, poorly put spawns, glitches here and there, so many things that went wrong. For me, I had my fair share of fun with 2042 but even I can see the flaws the game has. I hope they are true to their words. Because, like the guy said, Battlefield 3 and 4 were literally the golden era of Battlefield. Obviously BF4 had a VERY rough start way back with desync and poor servers but the fact they kept supporting that game, improving upon it showed they were not giving up on it. Obviously it's wishful thinking on wanting the golden days of certain games to come back with a fresh new look but that is impossible to wish for
