So when I said the music playing from this speaker seems to be missing some big details from a song, it's primarily because it's a mono speaker. For example when listening to The Prodigy - You'll be Under My Wheels, at the 25 second mark when the main part of the song kicks in with the lyrics, that high "WWAAUU" sound effect in the track is almost COMPLETELY missing when playing through this speaker, and that's because that sound effect is primarily coming from the left side if you were to listen with just about any thing playing in stereo. This song is a great example if you want to hear what I'm talking about since that sound effect in the song is iconic, yet it's just not there when playing through this speaker. Again I think this would be solved if I had another Beats Pill speaker to try this in stereo mode, but I don't have another one yet.

I iave one of these too having tested since a few days after release in July. I do however also own all of the other Beats Speakers there are. Bear in mind music and sound is subjective. Honestly though its the best portable ive heard in a long time. There are some better competitors but given this new pill has a lanyard, looks premium, and has a very long battery life it has to be the winner for me. many people are comparing it to the Pill + that came before in 2015 but nobody has really compared to the old Beatbox, Beatbox Portable, or the fabled Pill XL from 2012. Having compared them all myself the OG Beatbox wins hands down. This however is wall powered and much bigger. Compared to the other Portables Beats offers though this one absolutely wins by a mile. The speaker is both lighter and more portable than the Pill + and the XL but sounds crisper and deeper than those previous models. The only downside ive come across so far is that when running it at above 70% volume the sound esp Bass distorts and gets worse at higher than 80% volume. This is easily mitigated however by playing at lower volumes. Now i know this sounds like a silly solution but honestly 30-50% volume is mre than enough for most situations. It really is clear and loud for what it is. Overall the best Beats Has offered for years. I missed my XL when Apple bought them out and did their recall on it, but having replaced it and now got this one and all others..... this new one is King in my opinion
