Honestly? Come on guys.. this whole anti-beats campaign is just fucking silly. I own both studios 1&2 and I can totally agree that the originals were muddy, but these Studio 2 sounds really really good. You have to try it before you you judge these new ones. I'm not an audiophile, but fuck I know good sound and I also use the beats along side a pair of monitors to make music and they work really well. As for the price, yes it's expensive. Is it justifiable? YES! Why? cuz aside from them being more than decent headphones, they are also a fashion accessory and that's the cold truth. The other hard pill to swallow is that people that can't justify the price are poor and can't afford them. That's why it's not for your market. Go and buy what your pocket can afford since you can get better sound for less and stop coming online to complain about the fact that someone else bought what they can afford and prefer. I own the AKG K545, SHURE SRH8, old SONY XMB500 series and Beats studios 1&2. The Studio 2 are my go to headphones, right next to the AKG.. the SHURE, I use to create music.

I might get Bose QC25's and they are 300 dollars and the Beats are the same price. Beats aren't bad sound quality they just don't have the bang for the buck.

I've been against beats before it was cool :D. Seriously - I get into the store and listened to each every beats headphones they had and it was HORRIBLE! So I joined the whole "Me against beats" movement. But still I think theese are some cool looking headphones. I also listened to beats studio 2 and… God I love that sound! It's accurate enough for me, but the overall sound is… warm. And I really enjoyed it so. Would I want to own a pair of theese? SURE I DO!!!

Yes everyone may think beats are overpriced crap, but that's only the solos and especially the earbuds, but the studios and executives are actually really good

You forgot to mention the beats pros. The beats pros are the absolute clearest sounding headphones of all the beats. They don't have as much bass as the studios do, but that's because they focused on making the vocals and mids much clearer, but they still pack the great bass you would expect from beats. The beats pros are also built like a tank and are by far the most durable beats and are made of nothing but metal and leather (no plastic). Overall I would recommend the beats pros over the studios, but if you don't care about clearer mids and want more bass, than get the studios. I don't recommend the OLD studios though, because the bass was a bit overpowering and mids were slightly distorted.

But you can get a better pair of headphones for a much lower price. They are way overpriced and have too much bass that drowns out all other sounds.

Ok, I just purchased an iPhone 6 coming from an iPhone 4s. For anyone who doesn't know, the iPhone 4s went way louder than the iPhone 6. I took the phone back to Apple and let the rep have a listen to both with a pair of momentums. He also agreed. We even tried the demo phones there which were also lacking volume compared to the 4s. The rep was so kind, even though my 14 days return had expired several days before. He offered a full refund. After going through a few ideas, he asked me where I got my momentums from, I told him they were also purchased at an Apple Store nearly 2 year ago. After showing him a sales receipt he said I could swap them for any pair of headphones in the store regardless of the price if I could find a pair that met my high volume requirement using the iPhone 6. After trying them all I listened to the beats 2.0 last, DAMN I was impressed! I was so surprised as I knew how crap the originals sounded! The bass was tight and precise, mids were clear as day, and the highs were crisp but not too sharp and very soft to the ear, even at high volume! The beats studio wireless were even offered to me by the rep even though they were 70GBP more expensive than my momentums. However I felt the wired studios sounded better which is why I settled for those. I'm 5 days in listening to the beats instead of the momentums and I must say. Overall I prefer the beats. Beats have more bass than the momentums and they are louder. Yes the momentums had a fraction more detail in the mid to highs. But I'd rather have more bass and volume. So thanks very much Apple. Keep up the good work, I'm very pleased at the way your rep handled the scenario I was in. But try and bring the prices down eh?....Hehe

I have been using the studio 2.0 for 6 months now and I must say DAMN. Received as a birthday gift from girlfriend :) I love sound quality and it's all there with the beats. I'll put em on and do housework like it's going out of style I'll cook, clean , watch KZbin car reviews and most of all pod casts. Must I say the noise cancellation is impressive . I use them while on my riding lawnmower and BARELY HEAR THE MOWER . Hell I'll just crack a beer thrown on my beats and mow with a smile on my face :) LOVE THEM

Grabbed them in the matte black after watching about a dozen of your videos reviewing all of the different headphones out there. Came down to V-Moda M100's vs Beats Studio. The sound leak / GF video for both pretty much sealed the deal for me. You do amazing reviews with real world tests that take into consideration as many scenarios as possible. I have the white Beats Studio 2.0 as you can see from my profile pic, epic headphones, I absolutely LOVE these headphones, I clean them often to keep them like new cause a pair of beats is not just a pair of headphones, it's fashion, it's an investment, it comes with a little responsibility. supurb quality from the inside out, just wow, the bass can get insane with an music enhancer as well and you can adjust the bass and it's insane but fun to listen to, it bangs your head. Also if you didn't know, there is a red led indicator so when it's at like 10% the first led that is usually lit white is glowing red which is I think about a half hour til dead warning. Great Video, I like it.Take care Bro :)

I actually have a few gaming headsets including Astro, Sony and Steelseries. They do have pretty good staging, but they all suck at music. They don't have good mid and high response. That's why I bought the Beyerdynamics T90, Denon D600 and Sennheiser HD650. If you are serious about sound quality, don't buy gaming headsets. They have more drivers, but one good driver destroy all.

***** T90 sounds pretty crisp. Also the soundstage is pretty wide as it happens to be an open headphone. I used to have DT990. T90 shows more details and much clearer high and mid comparatively. For the bass, T90 does not have a very strong bass, but it has a deep and punchy one, which makes you feel the punch but not echoing around your ears after the short kick. For the Denon D600, it is a closed back headphone. It has a deeper and stronger bass as most closed back headphones do. It has slightly recessed mid and high, but I love using that for movies. Using the D600 for modern pop is also pretty good as the bass is deep enough for most pop songs out there.

Great video man! I started out with the Beats solo 3 years ago and just recently had them break on me due to an uncontrollable accident. I have been in the market for a new pair but wanted to get away from the solos not that they are not good cause I loved them but I like how the Studios have the bigger ear cuffs. I have watched a few reviews but the ones I watched and read were many from people who didn't seem to really be into the Beats line so I felt that their reviews were bias. Your review gave me exactly what I was looking for and I can't wait to pick my new pair up this afternoon!!

The flap hole in the case is where you put your cord. It fits very well and you put your wall adapter and charging cord in the empty space

You can turn off the headphones bye holding down the power button instead of taken out the cord. Also if the cord isn't plugged in you can hold the power button to see how much battery is left. You can also charge and listen to music. It also pastes a long time on just one charge.

With the wire not being plugged in you still can turn them on and check the battery life this also activates a noise canceling feature .. If you were to put them on and not have the wire in you could simply hold the power button and this would activate a noise canceling feature and it sortof trys to take away most of the noise around you , overall great review and thank you

I own a pair of New Studios, and I love them. I listen to Rock music, and these play flawlessly if any of you were skeptical. I also have a big head and they fit fine, for anyone with a huge noggin. Everything works fine. I have owned these for two months now and they've been great on the go, at home, and in recording. I think the biggest issue people have with these headphones is that they play them too loud. To be honest, any set of headphones have the capability of turning up to maximum voume, but I do NOT recommend it. Playing music at a medium level of volume is perfect, you shouldn't need it on full blast. It's unhealthy for you and the headphones. But anyways, my only complaint is the clicking when you fold the headphones into use, but that's it. I would rate these headphones a good 9.7/10.

I had to get rid of these Beats to go back for the older original Beats. I was disappointed with the newer Beats as after a few months the stitching on the ear cups came loose and only worsened over time - Amazing work by Beats! Secondly, they didn't sound as nice without Monster working with the headphone. Thirdly, the power button after time only worked when it wanted to.. I had to reset one too many times, and on most cases only to find that the battery I had charged up was gone. This is my opinion, I know you have yours and I respect that.

Bought these not long ago. They are amazing. The active noise cancelling hiss (people's biggest problem) is hardly loud at all. People will obviously have different opinions, which is fair enough, but for me the noise cancelling is extremely quiet and doesn't at all interfere with either music OR even normal videos.

You can actually press down on the button with the cable connected and they shut off. You can also hold the button without the cable connected to see how much battery and just to turn in the adaptive noise cancellation

You dont have to take the cable out to turn it on and off. The button by the battery lights is also the power button. Just press and hold to turn on and off. And if you have the beats on while the cable is unplugged then it goes into a greater noise cancellation mode to block out more noise if you just want to wirelessly wear them without music for just noise cancelation. So you missed an entire feature of these in this review by not mentioning that the battery indicated actually functions as a power on and off button and also they are programmed to go into the greater noise cancellation mode when you power them on without the cable attached.

So I purchased a pair of the Matte Black version, from an authorized reseller on January 6th. For some reason the Mute button does not "fade" out the music as described in this review, but cuts out pretty much in less than one second. Not sure why the change...Beats support had no clue?

That being said, the Remastered Studios are an EXCELLENT set of headphones at a very reasonable price if you know how to shop. While its true that $299 is a high price tag, you can currently get the Red remastered studios online for $199 through amazon or walmarts website. Theyve had a beautiful, minimalistic redesign with a much more premium look than the old studios. in my opinion they look much better than a lot of other headsets so many keyboard warriors go crazy for. They definitely look much better than my ATH-M50's. The sound quality on these headphones is also great. Im no audiophile but i certainly feel as if these are at least "very good" in every aspect of sound. Stop with all the hate based on such a stupid, outdated generalization. these are great headphones which can hang with any other high end set.

These new studios have a little hiss in the background but people who say its really LOUD, its not. When you turn your volume to 25 % the hiss is gone unless you listen to some really quiet music.

You can actually turn the beats studios off with the cable plugged in, you just have to hold the button until they turn off and when the cables not plugged in you can still turn them off and on you just gotta hold the button ad well.

So for new version, you don't need batteries while you do need them for the old version? And you can charge the new ones and you can't charge for the old ones, correct? I want to give my boyfriend beats for Christmas, is the new version worth the addition of $100 from the old one?

Got the red ones. and feature wise they are a massive improvement over the previous models, which is rare in the tech industry these days with minor improvements youre used to seeing for a big price.

As an owner of the studios 2, I notice that the earcup of the headphones started to unglue it self from the leather. I had to return them, but I still prefer the solos 2.

Before reading this comment, know that I am 15 and I have no experience in these kind of things. Also, someone else bought them for me (birthday thing). And I am not a native English speaker. I had these headphones... Mostly used them for my phone. I did my best not to break them and yet, both of the audio cables and the charger broke on the first week, though I did end up using the red cable later since it kept working. The mic on the red cable really mest up everything by opening and activating stupid apps randomly and tearing apart (probably because of the way you turn it off). For about 2 - 3 year they were the best headphones that I have ever used. The sound quality was amazing. However, then they broke in 1 week. The sides broke and the pads tore. Trying to fix it resulted in the headphones not working at all. Over all - if you are like me and someone else bought it for you, then it is going to be great and you will love them so much it might be hard returning to old headphons. But if you are buying them, do not expect them to last very long without a need for a costly repair or the fucking pads which are very hard to replace.

Very nice review , I've just ordered them hence there was a huge discount and I couldn't resisted , in Red ..... will update once i tried them for a couple of days and compare them with my current collection Bose Q3 , Shure SHR840 , Audio Technica ATH-M50 , Jabra Revo bluetooth wireless .
