I think you're on the money with the bancrofts idea. 350 gold cheaper than doom orb and stronger lategame when paired with typhons. There might even be potential for poly + book of thoth to get humongous scaling from all of the flat mana on these items. Throw in a tablet and you've got yourself a decently well rounded mana/lifesteal stacking build, with over 100 bonus power on book of thoth. The lack of cooldown might hurt your farm though. Maybe stick with just bancrofts and typhons.

I feel all damage items need 5 power added to them, and then I think it will balance the game out more, not too much of a buff but a need one. Mage items might need 10, but 5 is a start, and physical items only need the 5 cause they weren't nerf as bad as mage items.
