I personally also think that Mystical Fire needs a buff to its damage, nothing crazy but since they decreased damage by 36%, i'd say increase damage by 18% again, Mystical Fire really didnt have to nerfed that hard imo

Mobility doesnt matter when you cant even kill a fly, youll just be around the battlefield running and dashing at max speed for decoration purposes

As a sylveon main from day 1 I started with mystical fire calm mind but as I got higher in my skill I started using hyper voice over mystical fire. Sylveon is good don’t get me wrong but it’s also in a weird spot in today’s meta game. Draining kiss I don’t see useful at all, it only sustains sylveon so much but with heavy hitters like lucario dragonite and tsareena it only goes so far. I’d like to see a buff or a retweak to Sylveon.

I mained MF sylveon solo to masters in season 1, I think her niche is a sort of slower-paced assassin type role with this build - she struggles a lot in team fights, especially at objectives with the autotargeting prioritizing other players, but she actually has a lot of utility as an off-laner. So much mobility and chase-down potential on single targets. I found myself going top a lot and skipping the first dred rotation to solo rotom instead, exception being if I had hit 8 already and felt that the unite could make a difference. I don't think she's top tier by any means but so much fun to play!

Yeah, same here. Though, I think Tencent treated M.F a bit harshly, as it got a 36% damage decrease 2 days after Sylveon's release. I think they should increase its damage by 18% again to make it more viable. Also, I love sure-hit type moves.

QOTD: My fave is Mystical Fire/Calm Mind! I main Sylveon when I need to be an attacker and use the Buddy/Muscle/Choice Specs build as well. During Sylveon's release, I used that build a lot and it carried me to Veteran ngl. After the nerfs, I still used that build just because my aim with Hyper Voice is really bad and my play style is more of being mobile and getting in and out of situations. Though I think Mystical Fire and/or Draining Kiss needs a slight buff, I'm also satisfied to where Sylveon is now.

Sylveon is really weak right now in this meta, but can't be buffed too much either I'd say Tsareena nerfs incoming could help Sylveon a lot. If they give it a small damage boost would be nice too

Hyper Voice and Calm Mind still for me. At 1.8k Masters, I have a 65% win rate with Buddy and double glasses Sylveon with this skillset. I prefer her as a backliner like the likes of Pikachu and Ninetales.

I also agree, 1.7k Masters. I prefer focus/shell over wise for extra survivability and cdr but hyper mind is the way to go unless you’re against high mobility char (good gengar, absol players)

Thanks for the video. I was waiting to see how I liked Dragonite play style so I could chose between Sylveon or Dragonite... But then without noticing I got over 25k of coins and was like " . . . Oh well. I guess I don't have to chose!" To not make the story longer; I tried Sylveon... and was melted by the Tsareenas, but even more the Dragonites, which was more common thanks to it's "newly released" status. I came to the same conclusion of using "Mystical Fire", and it works as you experienced . . . but in my case, I didn't liked Mystical FIre build play style as much. So I guess I just gotta learn to like it. . . or get precognition so my Hyper Voice always goes to the optimal position and not just get killed by those two backstabbing me while I'm occupied screaming NOT in their direction.

For solo que I go for mystical fire calm mind. My items are choices specs, buddy barrier, and energy amp. As if you are in lane and you can secure enough farm/ steal enemy jungle you can have your unite in the middle of the first dread fight. Sylveon also can be a good early lane bully depending on who you are in lane against. Having big unites for teamfights and objectives are great. Also on Pokémon I’m comfortable fighting in lane with I run fluffy tail. As securing farm (mainly enemy farm) can really shape the early game.

Your video question time song shows a deep familiarity with children's programming. Truly the sign of a stay at home parent. Both Sylveon builds are good, a true rarity in the unite world. My personal preference is hyper voice because I like to feel more useful during team fights and objective burns.

I'd say Hyper Voice is still better overall in team and solo queue. Hyper Voices ability to secure and steal objectives is just fare to valuable, plus calm mind already provides pretty decent mobility if one understands how to use it well! Mystical Fires targeting is too unpredictable and unreliable if you're trying to steal or farm because it always priorities enemy team pokemon.

I'm not using Sylveon at the moment because I'm in love with Slowbro but I've tried many different builds and I definitely prefer Mystical fire with Calm mind. You move a lot and sometimes they just can't touch you. I've been in situations where I even manage to kill 2-3 of them at full health because of that. Nice vid as always man.

I'm a main Sylveon user, and i can say with confidence that for both solo and team fights, Mystical Fire has better consistency and utility in most situation. The dash can create a variety of situation when you can outplay players (like dodging aiming skills, i dodged some of Tsa triple axel by waiting for Tsa to use it first or guessing where she would use it and sometimes luck) while you grind them to death with the sure-hit high dps fireballs (where the not too close but also not too far range show its shine), while Hypervoice although AoE and higher dps, can't do enough dmg before people figure how to avoid its effective range with a few movement tricks. And combining with Calm Mind (my go-to build), you have a little sp.atk Speedster that can run around the whole map with great mobility and join any team fight and dish out strong dps with few seconds late. If anything, Hypervoice is still better at stealing objective and doing some insane K.O in team fights with its AoE where Mystical Fire shows its limit, but too much effort invested into foresighting to achieve a result against veteran that can be comparable to other meta "maybe brainded" skills. The held items i'm using are buddy barrier, choice specs, wise glasses (between the two glasses, choose choice over wise); i'm not using muscle band because i don't see Sylveon basic atk really contributed much when i tried it.

I love all of sylveons move builds, but I prefer hyper voice/calm mind over anything else. For items I like going double glasses for big damage so wise glasss/choice specs, then I’ll go either focus band or buddy barrier for the third item

You should try Mystical Fire/Draining kiss, Buddy/Focus/Muscle with, pause for effect, a potion. I take as much damage at the end as my tank usually and get more self-healing than eldegoss.

If I am playing solo, I tend to run fire and kiss. With how easy tsarennas and Dragonites can close the gap on you, getting good damage from hyper voice can be really hard. In teams tho I will always use hyper mind!

I run focus band/Choice Specs/Buddy Barrier (30/25/22). Mystical Fire + Draining Kiss. Damage is not much but it works for me. Also, if you reached Lv 13/14 you will have extra shield from Sp. Atks, not sure if this is from Buddy Barrier but yeah :) I'm a Sylveon & Crustle main 😅

I'd say mystical fire is better than hyper voice 'cause you see a lot of mons with high mobility in the meta or mons that make high damage/cc but are close range or are fragile. Either way, you can punish them a lot; using hyper voice also makes you "stuck" in the animation, so anyone can move to the other side of your attack. A tip for hyper voice is to always aim diagonally, so you have a better angle if any mon tries to evade it

I’ve been using fire ring with heart drain going jungling for awhile. I dislike hyper voice and never used it beyond just trying it out once. Harder to control and the enemies slip away from your area. Hyper voice not flexible. Fire ring gives me a little hop to escape so I don’t have to use escape item. I didn’t realize until now that my build for Sylveon is “meta” but I did notice right away that she’s a good counter against 🐉 and Tsar.

Its not Meta, spragels just ran out of ideas. Mystical fire is hideous, cant secure objectives, cant be useful in teamfights, no damage if underleveled... HyperVoice is hard to use, really hard but its worth the effort. Youre supposed to chase them down with hypervoice and make sure you attack them from a long distance, Tsarenna has no counters, shes just that broken

I'm glad to see other people think Mystical Fire needs a damage buff. I've always ran MF because I can replace eject button with MF's dashes and use a goal getter with score shield instead for rushing 50 point dunks endgame. The nerf was definitely warranted when Sylveon first came out but they did it way too hard. The hit from the first fire is nice but everyone after that pretty much does the damage of a basic attack.

I use Shell Bell, Muscle Band and Wise Glasses. I never new there was a nurf Since I would always kill my target on the 2nd skill shot of Mystic fire. Wise glasses and Shell bell add to my Sp.Atk as well as a cool down so I don't notice the damage loss. I prefer cool down because that means more attacking and putting pressure on the enemy to keep away. This way I always have my Mystic fire up even when I don't need it. I also Combine it with X attack. I don't need escape when just using mystic to get away far enough works.

@@HemingwayJay Wise glasses adds additional damage by 7% When maxed out. It also affects personal healing skills that aren't HP based. Great for sylveon, additional self healing. Both add Sp atk +39 when maxed Choice specs only add 40/50/60 additional damage and has a 8 second cool down for that additional damage. As well as only affecting one pokemon at a time. So i prefer constant additional damage by % that has no cool down. The game doesn't tell you outright. The Wiki does.

Though I prefer Mystical Fire, I end up running Hyper Voice most of the times for overall advantage on my team's side. I feel like HV can really give you an early edge with stealing the farm so effectively at lvl 4 and get more exp for you and your lane partner. Sadly, fighting high mobility pokémon is a struggle, but no pain no gain I guess.

Mystical Fire, Draining Kiss Buddy, Choice Specs, Wise Glasses Full Heal Ultimate kiting build, hard to get pinned down whilst dealing a decent amount of sustained damage. So easy to use with all these all-rounders being strong, and allows for so many more outplays compared to hyper voice

I've preferred Mystical Fire since day 1. I have a 70% win rate with Sylveon, over 200 games with it:) Also Draining Kiss gives more dmg, easier survivability, and the slow can help your team a little better. I run BB, SpA Specs, Choice Specs if anyone is wondering. Sub SpA Specs with Wise Glasses or Muscle Band if you're not great at scoring

I use mystical fire for the mobility. If i use sylveon in ranked then I take calm mind, if it's quick or standard then I take draining kiss.

I pick Mystic Fire+DrainingKiss if there's more than 2 speedster. If there's only 1 speedster, I pick HyperVoice+CalmMind. Sylveon is my main attacker even after the nerf back then! Still loving it!
