New Bike Day / Rocky Mountain Growler

I sold my old bike so I picked up a Rocky Mountain Growler as a camping bike and something a little different. New bike day is the best.

Hi, congratulations on a great bike. How satisfied are you? I am the proud owner of a Growler 5O and I love this bike. I would also buy a Growler 20 and change a few components according to personal preference. But here in the Czech Republic, if you want a Growler, you only have the Growler 5O. So I didn't change anything and I ride it as is. It's a great bike for the trails around my house....

It’s ok. I only use it camping. I have an instinct c70 so it’s hard to go from that to an entry level spec.

I love the hardtails. You might want to install a 130 or 140mm air spring in that fork. That is going to be pretty slack for riding around the campsite

I've got a '22 Growler as well, and after a few minutes on the bike, I don't notice any problems with the low speed handling? I was coming from a 1999 Kona Stuff so the 14cm longer wheelbase took a few rides to get used to where the tires are in low speed turns, but I love it for winding single track, climbs anything, and going downhill is great of course. A RM Soul or Fusion have a 66 HT angle and probably would be fine too. I got my kids both Souls as they have 27.5" wheels and they are great on the steep and tech too.

@@CowichanMTB yep I figured I might as well get the Growler as well, I have the 20 and looking for a nicer fork, but still like riding it a lot even with the boat anchor up front.

I just purchased the same bike with the same Z1 fork did the headset switch over did you have to get a new headset

Switched over. Just had to pull off the crown race from the stock fork
