The trailer gives off darker vibes than your average Borderlands game. I wonder if they're gonna dial the humor back significantly? Borderlands' band of humor hasn't aged the best, which we've seen with BL3, so I'd welcome a more serious entry with sparse humor, kinda like the first game.

Randy Varnell, who was the lead writer on BL3 and I think BL4, actually addressed some of the writing criticism. It wasn't like, watered down corporate speak either. He straight up said they'd dial back the poop jokes going forward lol. He said they tried more mature directions with the BL3 DLCs, which I totally see. BL4 could very well be a darker one. I'm 100% in support of that

Yeah I loved a lot of things about 2 and I loved this franchise but the vibes of 1 are still the most immaculate. They needed to tone it down. The humor should remain but dark surreal humor.

I don't think it's an issue with the humor aging poorly. I Just played 1-3 and PS back to back to back, to 100% them. 1, 2 and PS were funny. 3 was not. That's an issue with the writing, not the humor aging poorly.

There's a steam news post on the steam page now that gives a bit of context on where Elpis was teleported into unknown space. This info along with "secret alien treasure", a planet with a shield around it, and a hand that looks to be a guardian's hand makes me believe that we are indeed going to the home planet of the Eridians.

I want the next villain in the franchise to be a Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Charlemagne, Ceaser, Trajann, Saladin esk character named General Unitatem Concordia (General “unity” “live in harmony” in Latin) or something along the lines of that. Someone who wants to unite the wastelands and bring peace and harmony to it. We come to blows with him and fight against him. But as we do, we come to learn of his backstory. As a child the warbands and vault hunters destroyed his home killed his parents and violated him and others before taking them as slaves. As a slave he worked up to be a general in the warlords army before killing and usurping him. Now he seeks to create a Pandora where people don’t have to live in fear that what happened to him will happen to them. Additionally he treats his underlining a well and as family. And despite being a tyrant he is very fair and benevolent for a warlord. Eventually we come to face him, and after seeing the kind of world he rules; a place where you don’t need to kill everyone you meet, we are given a choice… Join him and create a Pandora where true peace and harmony exists at the cost of what makes the planet “fun”, or fight and let Pandora remain a hell hole no sane person would ever want to live in. All you lose is anarchy type freedom the games are known for in exchange for lawful order if you join. If you resist, all the other factions immediately turn on each other to fill the power vacuum as the Generals last words are “Congratulations, you condemned us all forever” as this happens. Ultimately it comes down to this… -United Pandora, or Lawless wastelands. -Being ruled by planet wide military dictatorship vs local warlords. -A unified world free of psycho marauders vs a divided hellscape where you live in fear… -Lawless freedom or Peaceful tyranny. …Which is better? Now that I think of it, he wouldn’t be the villain, he’s straight up the good guy.

Oh brother u missed out alot on Borderlands 3, they ended having takedowns, which was kinda like raids, but there was only 2, and some other fun mades and all characters was strong af. So any way the arm at the end of the trailer in my opinion is probably a new character to play or a villan

invisible planet with sci-fi vibe infrastructure, sure tells me this is somewhat connected to what actually happened to the Eridians and where did they go after. I hope this is not another Halo Infinite story which adds more questions than solving the current questions, by introducing new alien faction, after a promising Ancient Human Tech reveal, basically a more hunt for more bread crumbs and easter eggs all over again. so like Halo fans wants to see the game devs revealing the fate of the Forerunner remnants, as a fan to the Bordelands franchise we need the Dev's to reveal the Eridians 1 form to another hopefully.

I mean imo bl2 guns were way better than bl3 guns. same goes with the comedy. guns and comedy are the heart of these games. they have to get it right this time. they have alot to prove before I get excited for a borderlands game again.

i think the 7th siren is on the Eridian planet we got Lilith and the dlc siren then we had maya which is is now the annoying brat that's 3 then we have Amara and the drain sirens that is considered 1 so that's 5 and then we get a new siren(since it is a new game) plus the 7th which neriad told us to avoid but how it plays out we will have to see.

Subbed, all I want is for this game to be the penultimate BL game, the strength of the story and writing of 2, gameplay mechanics, movement of 3, 4 bad ass new vault hunters, with epic abilities, (or being able to make our first ever customer character as one of the vault hunters, choosing abilities, class, etc), adding the ability to choose from the other surviving vault hunters from prior games, as this should be the beginning of the end, THE WAR from the Pre-Sequel should begin here and as was stated in that game: we need as many vault hunters as possible. Praying that this game actually does well, give us a great story, relatable characters, no agenda, or "messages" in our world of Pandora, (and wherever else the story takes us), just bloody, gun filled, hilarious fun. 🙏🏾💯
