I have to really disagree on this not being “beast mode”. I sprayed it on a jacket nearly 2 weeks ago and it’s still there. And not just faintly there, I can still easily smell it to the point that spraying on other fragrances doesn’t even mask it. If you spray it on clothing, you will have to wash them to get rid of this stuff.

I hate to tell you but you'll need to wash your clothes a few times for the scent to disappear. I had a bottle break - picked up the mess and one of the cloths I used to dry the floor down still smells like the elixir :D

I managed to snag a bottle of this around 2 months ago now (work in the industry) I left a review on Fragrantica. It’s definitely marketing. I do like the fragrance a lot, I’m glad I didn’t pay for it ;) - I do feel as though Fragrance Houses are pushing their luck! Earlier this year Mugler launched ‘Angel Elixir’ now, this is where things get a little muddy and it’s tricking the consumer 100%. A couple of years ago Mugler launched something called ‘Angel Voluptuous Philter’ it was launched in Canada on the official Mugler website, it was only available in a 10ML format. It ‘was’ designed to be layered over the original Angel fragrance! Guess what fragrance was in those 10ML flacons!? Angel Elixir. An egregious con trick played out to the everyday consumer and brings the industry down.

Sauvage elixir I was ok with, I didn’t buy it but I got it. Everyone has started whacking “elixir” on a bottle to grab a pound note. But I don’t blame them, it worked with oud eau extreme l’eau Parfum intensely.

Cannot wait for Diors new release - Sauvage Aerated - same juice but a 1/3 more air in the bottle for an extra £50, or JPG Le Male - Pre-Macerated - same juice, sprayed 10 times at the bottling facility and left with the lid off for 2 weeks - yours for only £170 (it's french air, so of course it's more expensive).

This is my fave release from Hugo Boss in a very long time. Also, the fragrance smells and acts as something that has high concentration. If it’s technically edp or parfum I cannot verify but I know it smells rich and lasts a long time. Never thought I will pay anywhere near let alone over $100 for a Boss fragrance and be happy about it but this is one of my fave pickups in recent years. Macys had a discount but it’s also appearing at discounters slowly but surely. Amazing scent!

Sprayed this two weeks ago on my neck and wrists. The spray also hit the jacket that I was wearing. Two weeks later and you can smell it on my jacket as it still projects. Too peppery a smell for me but it does have an appeal.

I got my 100ml bottle on Saturday. A friend gave me a discount code so I got it for £85 with free delivery and Hugo Boss bag 'that I will never use'. At first I was confused, because this is so different to anything, and I have tried thousands over the last 20 years! For uniqueness it definitely gets a 10 out of 10. It took me a few wearings to get my head around this, but now I am really enjoying it! I think this is going to be amazing for Autumn/Winter, it is going to be getting a lot of wear for sure!

Where did you get it where you could use a discount code? Also, ive tried BB Elixir a couple times from my local boots and I think its nice, I think when I smell it up close I dont love it but I also find myself getting random whiffs of it and thinking 'wow I smell good' so it is a strange one.

Marketing,naming and pricing aside,I will definitely purchase 50ml.I loved the smell,i think it is perfect for upcoming cooler temperatures and 24 hrs later i can still smell it clearly on my arm...for me it is a very good fragrance and works on my skin. I also have Zara's Bohemian Oud and this is better version but very similar fragrance. Zara's is dryer and this one well blended and smoother but very similar , to my nose anyway ..

I always try to check out boss bottled releases as I find my most complimented fragrances list has a lot of Boss fragrances on it. Wanted to pick up Boss Bottled Marine but Boss seem to have actually made that a limited edition and got rid of it. Yet to try Pacific or Elixir. Think you’re right about the use of the word “elixir”. Can’t wait for 2024 and “Elixir Intense Parfum”. Boss Bottled Parfum smelled like vegetables to me so hopefully the Elixir smells better.

You should get Hugo boss Triumph Elixir on review. It's a daytime version of the original Elixir reviewed here. On dry down, I get pretty nice cola-patchouli scent on my skin; leaves a great sillage. Drives the wife nuts, she loves it.

Just got this and I'm in the States. First impression, this is right up my alley with the cardamom and incense. Personally, it will probably be my favorite in the Boss Bottled line just because of my tastes. As for the quality of the blend, I was pleasantly surprised. $100 for 100ml was fair to me since I didn't want to wait. At discounters it will be a steal. I do recommend this one.

tried it today its really top notch juice especially from boss have owned boss scent private accord and absolute, both are fantastic boss bottled marine a nice all rounder but this elixir is definitely the strongest most potent juice i have ever sampled from boss bravo to boss expensive juice still exclusive to perfume shop in uk £73 for 50ml and £100 for 100ml is it me but frags are now reaching or exceeding the ton price range will try to get the 100ml for around £70 in black friday

I don't mind the elixer designation. It means nothing, as you mentioned. So, who cares about the name, its a new release and ill judge it based on what it brings to the table. I guess what im saying is there isnt a difference to me whether they named this boss bottled elixer or boss bottled night or whatever, boiled down its just a new release.

If England had a king, I am sure an Elixir is what he would wear. And I am going to call it now, the next big hype word to even charge more for a fragrance will be: half-empty! Think of it: boss bottled half-empty. Dior homme half-empty. Valentino uomo half-empty. Paco Rabanne 1 million half-empty. I, for one, can't wait for it!

They say it smells like a fart from a gentleman in the 1930´s..and Girls don´t like it. Who needs a full bottle of this that costs 130 dollars. It´s a scent for special events when you are dressed up in suit and tie. A pass for me. I have The Scent le parfum and Bottled EDP.. Very happy with those. Big credit to Boss for making so many releases and exploring different things.

Spiced cola! I like the sound of that! Excellent review Chris. It's interesting, you take a standard 100 mL perfume @20% oil volume, take out 40 mL of alcohol and suddenly you've got a 60 mL perfume @33%. There's your extrait, and all you had to do was skimp on the alcohol. 😆 Put it in a smaller bottle that's cheaper to manufacture, call it God's Goodness, inflate the price et voila! Happy investors. Not to mention raising the concentration of woody ambers to skimp on other ingredients... More power to them I suppose. Yes that was a pun. 😂 I will be giving this one a try though. Haven't been impressed by a single Bottled flanker since Intense edp. Confusing naming conventions certainly not going away!

Pulled back from buying fragrances lately because it’s becoming to much. They aren’t letting enjoy anything before coming out with the next slight iteration. They are watering down the edts in order to come out with more potent expensive versions..,, edts used to last all day not they are puffs of scent designed to last 2 hours.

Yeah the Parfum is excellent. It’s more a moderate sillage and longevity I’d say but that’s fine, the scent is lovely. Elixir is burnt wood and smoke it’s really not pleasant. The Parfum is underrated and I imagine a lot haven’t tried it. In my opinion Boss should’ve swapped them around. Also a lot of people don’t realise Elixir is just a marketing term and doesn’t mean it’s any stronger then a Parfum concentration. A lot of the time it’s exactly the same.

To my nose Bottled Elixir is disgusting. It’s the smell of pine, burnt wood and smoke. The opening is harsh and the drydown really doesn’t get much better. I don’t understand how there are any positive reviews and I honestly don’t understand how it would be deemed to be a pleasant or attractive smell. I tried a sample and threw jt in the bin. My wife was completely repulsed by it too. Strongly suggest avoiding and or sampling first. It’s not a blind buy guys.

Yeah, who needs anything more than a fresh fragrance and a sweet fragrance. I feel the same things about music. Who needs more than 5 songs max! The idea anyone would listen to a whole album is crazy, there just can’t be that much of a difference between that many songs. I feel the same way about food. All you need is stew. It has your meat, veggies, carbs, beans, just everything you need. Anything else is a pointless remix. What are we doing?! I don’t understand why we would have more than maybe three outfits. One suit, one set of athleisure, and set in semi formal, anything more is unnecessary and exhausting. I’m glad we can get together and tell anyone who enjoys any of those things how silly they are for feeling like there is some sort of substantial difference between any of these things.

Tf do you expect? It's consumerism at its finest. No designer house has made anything groundbreaking since Bleu De Chanel. I waited soooo long for le male elixir. Bought it the day it hit US shores. Total hype beast... Got home with it. Sprayed it. Have not touched it since. Le male le parfum is where my heart is. Gotta shut it down at this point. Not a collector, but I have around 60 frags. Not counting backups. Always wonder why I went down the rabbit hole of cologne. I will never wear them all to empty... Should have just stuck with Bleu De Chanel, Chanel Allure, Dolce and Gabbana light blue, and Mont Blanc Legend. That's all I needed...
