Thank you for this! I originally got the SE1900, and never unboxed it. I went back with it and paid the extra for the SE2000. This is my second embroidery machine. The biggie for me is that it trims the thread. It’s so much easier and quicker. Your tutorial is great as always .

I love my SE 1900 I sew/embroidery for fun. I wouldn’t upgrade for those few nice perks. I don’t use my machine a lot and it would be wasteful to buy a new one. If I ever did upgrade. I would want a bigger area to embroidery on. That would be my perk. This was a great video. I had no intentions to upgrade I just wanted to watch your video to support your channel and give it a thumbs up.

Ackee another thing to look at is what is the price difference between the SE2000 and the machine with the next bigger hoop. You want to make sure you get a machine that you are going to be happy with. Look at the machine with the 6x10 hoop.

Thanks for this review. One thing I wish the display could show is part of the name of the file along with the photo when embroidering. I wonder if it has a USB port at all in case your Wi-Fi is down. Cutting jump stitches is awesome!!!!

HI Jan. I believe the USB port is still on the machine. I sure hope they let it there. I can't imagine them removing it all together. You are right, if you have no USB port and Wifi is down. You are hosed....

My SE 2000 arrived 2 days ago, used it yesterday... LOVE IT! The very first thing I noticed is how much quieter it is than my SE 1900. Jeanette, I must thank you for all your wonderful videos. Your tutorials have been instrumental in my new embroidery business :) I wholeheartedly agree this new machine is worth the extra few hundred just for the jump-stitch cutting function alone- if you embroider regularly.

You can't go wrong with either machine. You're be happy with either model. I just don't think it's worth upgrading if you already own the SE1900.

Hi Carmen. The Max speeed for sewing is 850 and 650 for embroidering. The SE2000 has more fancy stitches but it’s only by 1.

I returned the SE2000 2 times from Amazon because it had rough edges around the Freearm, and a Needle Clamp that would not release the needle unless you wiggled it. Plus, those Freearm edges were unfinished, and the rough edges made the fabric “snag”. Also, the Corners on the freearm that surround the needle plate, had a “Triangle cut out of them, and that Triangle was finished with a rough sort of caulk or paint. The plastic is very soft on this machine, and I think that is why the edges were prone to being jagged. It’s as if the machine that cut that edge had a dull blade. And then Brother didn’t even seal the edge. I have the SE600 which was $300 from Walmart, and it had better workmanship than this new machine. I was so disappointed. The one thing that I did like about the machine was that the hoop was made stronger, and it had a sort of “brushed” finish that allowed it to grab the fabric better. I have been asking several Dealers if the hoops that come with the NQ1700E and the NQ3700D were improved as well. But, they all said that no, the hoops have not changed. I am just not sure about this because the SE2000 Hoop was also a bit darker than the older hoops, and many of the pics of the 6x10 hoops are now darker as well. So, at this point, I am a bit confused as to what to even get.

WeQuilt, they sure aren't making machines like they did in the past. My Mom's machine is solid steel. It's older than me and sews better than all my current machines. So far my SE1900 has been a really solid machine. I don't plan on upgrading at all to the SE2000. Staying with my baby. You're right about the hoops. I wish they were made stronger too. I looked at the NQ3700D at the Sewing and Quilt show. I have to admit, I got the itch to get it. It sewed really nice and I like that it had the 6x10 hoop. I know a lot of ITH projects use this hoop size.

​@@BoricuaSewingCrafts Yes, Jeanette…. I have a handful of Vintage Singers that sew beautifully. Luv my 1590 and 1591 for Bag Making. My problem is that I am giving my SE600 to my daughter, and I want to be able to help her virtually with a machine that has a similar interface. On the sewing side, the NQ3700D has lots of bells and whistles. But, it’s not worth the money if the quality is as bad as the SE2000 was. I thought about getting the SE2000 again and just accept the poor quality, because I would be doing this to help my daughter. Or, get the NQ1700E because, like you said, there are a lot of ITH projects for that size. But, if I did that, I would not have the sewing side to help my daughter. Decisions, decisions…

Hi Janette!!!! I have been watching your videos for about one year now, and have learned a lot from your Embrilliance tutorials!!!!! But I have been very interested in the Brother brand of sewing machines. I have no Brother Sewing/Embroidery combo machine. What I actually havefor several years now are Bernina brand of machines, and recently got a Janome MC 9500/300E pair. But I want a machine that can be easy to use, and to be loaded with as many features as possible so not to have to upgrade soon. I have read some comments here that the SE 1900 can be converted to WiFi by using a Wireless 16 GB USB Drive, but there is no ArtAspira Software on it, and the iBrothery Embroidery Library is not offered with the 1900, only with the 2000. So will you say that it would be better in my case to go for the SE 2000 instead of the 1900? I am also willing to give one of my Berninas as Trade in for the 2000, so the price could drop somewhat. What is your opinion in my case?

Hi Jorge, I have been very happy with the Brother machines. Yes, I have read that about the SE1900 using a wireless 16 GB USB drive but I haven't tried it. Honestly I haven't really been using the WifI capability on the 10 needle machine. I like having the USB Drive and using that. If the Wifi is important to you then go for the SE2000. Remember the SE2000 now cuts the jump stitches too so that will be a big plus.

I would like to embroider on ready made t-shirts & sweatshirts. Can you do this on either the se1900 or se2000? If you cut threads in between colors, will the design unravel? Love your analysis.

Hi Patricia. Yes you can do this on the both machines. The design will not unravel. I usually put tender touch on the back of the embroidery so everything stays intact and stitches don’t bother the person wearing the item.

The SE2000 description shows to have a bigger 3.7" LCD screen...as compared to SE1900/1950's 3.2" is this correct?? Very good review!

I almost bought a SE 1900 a few years ago. I put it off and ended up buying yet another sewing machine which works great. But….. I seriously still want an embroidery machine. This may be the machine I get. I’m still debating.

Take a trip to a sewing shop so you can see the machine up close and try them out. Machines can be expensive so you want to make sure you make the right decision!

A little disappointed that the biggest hoop is the 5x7 (noting I can use the 5X12 multi position). I was hoping Brother would increase the hoop size. I guess I will stick with my SE1900 for now.

Hi Barb! Yes. I am back thou. I will be starting to post more videos again soon. I saw that big price decrease. I still think the SE1900 is still too pricey. If I have to spend $1500 on a machine I would look at the next version up that has the 6x10 hoop. I still use the SE1900 machine a lot. I do most of my sewing on it. But I still use the embroidery side of it as well. I like using it for In-The-Hoops projects. Glad you enjoyed the video.

@@BoricuaSewingCrafts I have a Babylock Elegante2 which is really nice but very heavy. I was looking at the SE1900 as a travel machine since it only weighs 22lb and on sale. Prayers your Dad continues to improve.

Just a warning to anyone who sees this comment: my machine does not embroider at 650 stitches per minute for designs I create myself. For the installed designs it does. I contacted brother, checked and double-checked the speed controller and embroidery settings. Strange how this would happen on a supposedly new machine. The only thing brother could suggest is to visit a service center which is BS since, like I said, this is a new machine.

The SE1950 is faster than the SRE1900. It's the same speed as the SE2000. The only difference is the capability. It doesn't cut the jump stitches and doesn't have the Wifi. It's still a good machine. I would do a price comparision on what you paid and how much for the SE2000 is going for now. If you want the new capabilities and can afford the difference, I would upgrade. If not I don't think you would regret the SE1950. I still have and use my SE1900 and love it.

Prices on machines are soaring up. Some folks prefer the single needle because it doesn't take up a lot of space like the multi-needle machines. I like them both.
