Halifax is generally a better city than Moncton as you are near the coast on a harbour. It also has way more in the form of everything. Halifax is much larger along with Dartmouth and also has Bedford and Sackville. Bedford has a nice waterfront. The climate of Halif is a bit less extreme though Moncton is still not too bad compared to Edmundston and much of northern New Brunswick. Moncton has a more similar climate to Truro and Amherst though the Halifax Airport and surrounding area climate is somewhat closer to that climate than downtown and Dartmouth and the Eastern Passage. I don't particularly like Moncton although it's all right as has what you need in the way of shops. Medical care though better there than in a small town is not as good as Halifax so if you need a specialized medical professional even though Moncton is better than small towns like Amherst and Truro it's still not nearly as good as Halifax. On the other hand it will cost you a lot less to live in Moncton than Halifax and cities like Moncton and Sydney have a certain slow pace of life in the summer. The price of the HRM goes up as it's on a housing bubble yet what were once slummy parts of the city are now upgraded and nicer although more costly than they were before
