My question is: how often do you actually use the saw? I mean I get that if you're out in the wilderness it's nice to have but as an EDC I rarely ever need to use a saw in my day-to-day activities. I'd rather see a large file replace the saw and then maybe use a T-shank holder on the inside

Bibury makes a great tool. I was shocked at the quality for the money honestly.

Good find! Looks like a worthy choice vs.The Gordon.

Have an original wave, bought this one after your video, great tool for the price, but jaw opening is much smaller, althought not an issue. You should always compare that. Also, less smooth on the opening of tools.

If the 1/4" bit driver is a priority, would you recommend this implementation over the SOG approach? It definitely appears more robust.
@stevenevil84152 ай бұрын
Owned it, sent it back. The paint on the tools blunted all the edges except the primary knife - that's just dumb.

Man, if only they had a legit file in place of the serrated blade. As it is, I'd take the Gordon over this one every day and twice on Sunday.
@edwardfletcher77907 ай бұрын
I'm not a fan of serrated blades, but they are a better option for Bushcraft and the File is better for Urban EDC
@jaybird87487 ай бұрын
totally agree, I'd swap the serrated blade for a large file and have a small serrated blade maybe in place of the small file.. and I'd swap the flat head screwdriver (which is redundant with the bit driver) for a spirit style chisel probably. Putting magnets in the bit driver to accomodate standard 1/4" bits is a huge upgrade (I did this to my DL7). This would be my perfect tool set I think. adding colourful G10 scales with tweezers, toothpick, pin etc could be spicy too. exciting times for multitools, especially with all the modular stuff getting popular too!
@AtomicBleach7 ай бұрын
I actually really like the mild serrated blade on the Gordon. Works much better in many applications than the more aggressive one found in other multitools. Also I've actually grown quite attached to the guthook. It works wonders when stripping thick multiconductor cable!
@ParkerBinion7 ай бұрын
@@AtomicBleach I like the serrated blade on the Gordon too. But I've got to have a file. The Gordon has a great file. If I am bringing the scissors up to one of the majors (four large outside opening slots), I keep the file and relegate the serrated blade to the minors.
@stevenevil84152 ай бұрын
Or a T-shank adapter! That would be the best toolset yet.

Do these tools still have the pinching potential that the Wave has (solved in the OT Multiforce)?

Bibury is selling this tool on the Canadian Amazon site for $70. Note that the USD to CAD exchange rate is not more double. There might be a hefty tariff for their company to import goods.

Bought few weeks ago, Had to sharpen the gut hook. The SQT version came way sharper out of the box. As did the titanium version. But it is a toss up between these and the Gordon, But the Gordon is way smoother.

The gordon hook seems to come sharp. Mine was able to cut a nylon strap out of the box.

I got one of these a few weeks ago. I had to touch up all the edges (except for the straight blade and the scissors). It's a real nice tool once you get it where it needs to be. I don't like the file though. I'll probably mod it at some point.

This has been 30 bucks since it came out. Id wait for the price to drop as ive never seen it on amazon over the 29.99. Bought the Gordon from HFT and so far its great

I think Leatherman is in trouble. They have been king for so long that they have forgotten how they got there. As a conciquence they are loosing all there patents and they don't have any irons in the fire left so to speak. Now everyone is coming along with their ideas, trying to improve or at least impress everyone with their take on it.
@AtomicBleach7 ай бұрын
Gordon at $32 with fathersday coupons is a better buy. If what im hearing from others about the lifetime warranty being true then for sure id rather be able to just go into a local store and get another one. Much better than waiting a month for warranty procedures to go through.

The warranty is only 90 days. Confirmed this at HF

@@maxlvledc it's just having the tool joints be on the opposite ends and making them be one hand operatable though, no? which has existed for a while, so as long as it doesn't look like a free/arc it would be fine.

@anfernyjackson9013 hmm, well technically that's not patented..so it is possible

Review came at the right time. If there was a all stainless version, I might've picked this one. I was able to get 3 Bibury's Wave clones to keep in 3 cars (wife, kids) and a Bibury Surge clone to keep in the truck. My Leatherman just pulls workshop duty now.
@beardedslavbrew6156 ай бұрын
It's all right for what it is but my issue with these cheap clones is that the plier heads don't open as wide as the Leathermans do, like lesser quality Metals in the tools and implements are fine, you're paying for a $40 tool, but even for just $40 wave / charge clone I'd at least want the pliers to open the same amount of width. I do like the quarter inch bits and bit driver though. Leatherman would be so much better if they would switch from those flat proprietary bits and drivers the standard quarter inch bits and drivers.

I think Leatherman is going to really get their S pushed in for a while by these clones until they are able to fix some issues within their company. One of the things being market/pricing strategy and another thing is figure out a better bits. With the economy how it is now a days I'd rather buy one of these $25-30 multi-tools and use that for 6 months to a year and then buy another one if I need to if something were to happen. Over purchasing a Leatherman for four times the price with the warranty that they give

@JustinPierce-mb2lu7 ай бұрын
I ordered this exact bibury a couple of weeks ago. Major bummer every one of the outside emplements has a ton of "lock rock" or play once the tool is locked. This effects the scissors majorly causing them to perform quite poorly. Could likely diaassemble and peen the handle where the spine of the plades connect with the handle when opened to push some material out to meet the blade to lose this play, but thats a lot of work for a new tool. The most disappointing chinese tool so far lol
