Hi team! 💜 Hope you enjoyed this setup 😄 If there are some collections you're like "why didn't Jess put those in?", they might be in my yearly collections journal! That one has year-long collections for the full year, and you can check out the setup at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIvMkntjjbCBmK8

My very first bullet journal, I wrote the wrong phone number on the name plate. It was one of the first things I did and ended up being a good thing. I was so concerned about messing up but had to get over that very quickly! Now in my 5th year, I am so much less stressed about errors...it is a journal just for me after all!
@TarielOfLorien
@TarielOfLorien Жыл бұрын
I actually try to put a big ugly squiggle on one of the first pages of each journal for this exact reason! It's like getting that first mess-up out of the way and then I can relax and just use my journal, lol
@JashiiCorrin

I mess up plenty in my journal, but I just find those very-first-page mess ups to be a lil heartbreaking 😝 like the time I dropped my pen face down onto my index, or when I fully smudged my name plate page 🫣 I like to save “big” stuff ups for the first month 😝

@@TarielOfLorien That is a great idea I am going to have to steal! I stress until my first mess up and then am fine after...do it first, on purpose and move on! Thanks!!!

In my first bullet journal, I had all these ideas and beautiful spreads planned, so I was so excited to begin - and I absolutely hated my yearly cover page. Like, the first actual page that I did. I had to put away the journal for a few days and then I was like, well, I've paid for it, might as well use it, and I used it every day since. I needed to get over that perfectionist side of me to actually use it, too.

I love that washi tape! And re: the content of your bujo, the ONLY reason I took it up myself was for the pure pleasure of writing things down and being creative. Organisation etc is just a very happy side effect.

I haven't used my future log much in the past, but this year I have been using it a ton. I vend at a lot of art-fair-type events and I apply for them well in advance. When I apply for them I pencil them in and then if/when I am accepted I will go over it in ink. I do also use it for regular things, like doctor's appointments, weddings, etc. I like the process of copying everything from the year ahead to the monthly calendar as a good reminder of what's coming up.

I love this smaller journal. I think I will actually use for traveling so I don't have to take bigger size with me. I can transfer memories to my photo scrapbook and habits and etc. done to my home journal when I get back. It can be used for multiple trips. I love watching and listening to you. 😊

I use my future log at the beginning of every month when I transfer things to my monthly calendar, and I add to them throughout the month. My issue atm is my journal is goin to last over a year and I'm not sure whether to extend the future log with a tip in or not. But that's a future me problem to be honest lol. Great video as always Jess, and I love the decor.

I need to get into a better habit of checking in with my future log at the start of each month 👏 Interesting that you're going to have more than a year in your current journal! I have a bujo that is specifically only for tracking what media I've consumed because I will literally forget if I've seen something. When you've watched "The Conjuring" with lacklustre enthusiasm on four separate occasions, and only realising "Oh come on it IS that movie!" in the laundry scene EACH TIME... you come up with a way to record what you've seen and if you think it's personally worth watching again. Saved me a dozen times over with things Netflix has decided I haven't seen when I definitely have. Everyone has different needs!

This is a great setup - thanks for sharing! I hadn't thought of using a traveler's notebook size but now I'm keen to try. I'm also terrible at housework, but it helps me if I think of it as "household maintenance" so I can focus on lightening the load for my future self (rather than feeling down that as soon as you cross the task off your list it basically has to be put on again...)

@JashiiCorrin if you do 3 tasks every day, then once a week add a new task. Have a deadline that helps too, for example the only day we don’t do anything is Sundays so thats our deadline. Even if I don’t want to do it on the deadline, I still do it so I don’t feel bad on Monday that I didn’t do it then feel the burden the whole next week

Love the videos, but the thing I'm bemused about is where/how to schedule in work commitments ie the day job. Not all work full time Mon to Fri, or shift work, so where is that added in! PS I love planning, but hate doing the work. Could spend ages on homework or revision timetables when I was at school. These were just deplacement activities - and very effective - which helped me avoid the work!

I keep leaving pages open for start-of-journal pages and then not having the time or energy to actually create those pages, so most of the front of my current journal is a blank void T_T Maybe when I switch to a new journal in July I'll only leave space for the pages I actually set up lol (clearly I need a yearly collections journal so that I don't have to stress about it in my everyday bujo)
