NEW Burgers For National Burger Day At Disney Springs! | D-Luxe Burger, Bob's Burgers Pop Up & More!

In today’s vlog we head to Disney Springs to celebrate National Burger Day! Thank you to Disney Springs for inviting us out to D-Luxe Burger to try some new burgers from their newly revamped menu. We had the classic burger, the pizza burger and the bbq burger. They were all really delicious but the pizza burger was the star of the show for me! I can’t wait to get back out there with Jenn and Jackson to try the burgers! Then we check out the Bob’s Burgers Movie Pop Up in front of the AMC Theater, where we won cool burger socks and got to try a Bob’s Burgers menu inspired slider. It was pretty good too! Then we ended our trip with a look at some new Merch in Disney Style, World of Disney and the Marvel Superhero Headquarters store. It was a great trip and a fun way to celebrate National Burger Day! The F&B Manager's deep back story reminded me of the old days, and the whole back stories of Pleasure Island, Merriweather Pleasure, the Fireworks Factory, etc. MISS those days!! The D-Luxe burger has a Texas spin here is a fun thing: As the claim goes, in 1904, Davis and his wife Ciddy ran a sandwich stand at the St. Louis World’s Fair. Although not well documented, a historian named Frank X. Tolbert said that someone else said (Athens resident Clint Murchison) that his grandfather said that the hamburger dated back to the 1880s and was invented by "Old Dave" (Fletcher Davis). Tolbert did receive a photo from 1904 of Old Dave’s Hamburger Stand as evidence of the claim. The historian wrote about it in Tolbert’s Texas. Also the New York Tribune attributed the innovation of the hamburger to a lunch stand on the World’s Fair midway, but didn’t name it.

It’s a confusing history that’s for sure but in the library of Congress it says that Louis’ lunch in new haven created the American version of the burger. It was just beef ground up, shaped into a patty, cooked with cast iron ovens, topped with a little sliced onion and tomato, between two pieces of toast. It’s still the way they do it to this day. The restaurant is one of those places that just you see the history in the wood and you leave it be. The owners refuse to sell out to anyone as Macdonald’s tried and the executive was thrown quite literally out the door before getting a single word in. That’s how serious they are about doing it their way with no changes. They don’t allow mustard or ketchup on burgers and it’s their way. It’s really good too and you really can’t argue with it.
