MinecraftGuy 1.7.10 It what used on these buses...having used them in Summer in London, which does often get temps in the high 20c and sometimes low 30s, can tell you these buses are NOT air-conditioned, far from it. On a fully laden bus (remember people give-off body heat), stop/start traffic (London is one of the most congested cities in Europe) and with the Sun beating down plus humid air these buse are like ovens on wheels, added to the insult is the non-opening windows on the top deck...not that it would help any. Think the "air-chill" system is a method of force feeding air but it doesn't used compressors as 1) would add weight to the bus (and it already at the max permitted for a 2axle bus) 2) cost of the vehicle (they already by far the most expensive London bus model) 3) fuel-use would no doubt increase (and it's "green" status would be reduced) 4) the electric-running mode would not cope with the increased demand in power required. Another issue (though limited to 2-3 routes) is the fact that these buses were "suppose" to operate with the rear "hop-on/hop-off" door open at all times...further reducing the effects of a "air-chill" system and making a "air-con" system work harder, thus use more fuel etc. The "air-chill" system, when working properly is "o.k" upto 20c, 20c-25c it staring to wane, 25c-30c and it has no effect and on-board becomes uncomfortable, 30c+ it like a sauna and you better off outside!

SBS Transit, a local bus operator responsible for the bus during the visit pasted the metroline logo on as the companies are related. Both are under the ComfortDelgro group.

The bus is actually owned by TFL On Lease to Arriva, but Metroline Branding was put up because their owner, Comfort Delgro is a Singapore company.

Should have have kept it there due to its poor quality design and bad engineering. The bus is an absolute disaster on the streets of London, so uncomfortable to ride, bad suspension, stairs and doors.

I wonder how much of British taxpayers' money it took to ship the thing to Singapore regardless of Comfort Delgro being a Singaporean company, you don't get new buses that are built for use in Singapore touring the streets of the U.K. The British Government/TFL needs to stop wasting UK taxpayers' money on foolishness like this. This is why every year the cost of bus and train fares goes up and up, to fund unnecessary lavish trips like this and like I said before at the taxpayers' expense.
