Cakes reused for practice and demonstrations are best known as Frankencakes. Coined as far as I'm aware by a well known baker, I believe Ester Holt. I could be wrong on that though.

I think it looks like leather with the embossed flowers and red brown fondant . Maybe an old book cake can be made with that technique.

I really really love this look and can easy think of several other ways to use this technique…it seems so doable and has a really big impact…thank you for sharing it…🙂 I wonder if doing the impression after the fondant is applied would work…🤔
