For News only Arri😂 I am using Sony FX6 for almost everything, but for very quick Situations and LiveU i ordered the Z200. I think this Cam will be good enough for that. Greetings from Germany✌️

I have this z200 for live events! It's not a competitor to sony's FX line at all...but it's a good tool to have for anyone who shoots live events, news etc...I like it a lot and I hope Sony makes it even better with future firmware updates-I just wish it had a ring dedicated to IRIS but a future update in May 2025 (according to Sony) will let me assign one ring to IRIS- for now I'm fine. Best camcorder I have used in a while-not comparing it to APSC or full frame or whatever.

Hello. I have had my Sony Z200 for about 1 month now and am loving it! Still learning little things here and there and am sure for a while to come. My question is, how do you find your gigs? You see I am getting close to retirement and would like to do some gigs hear and there in my next life. I have what I need as far as audio and video gear (I hope). The only thing I have done in the past are weddings, but those gigs were found through family and word of mouth. Thanks!

I picked up the Sony nx800 same camera without time code or SDI and I've been really impressed with it. It's my first camcorder and I pair it up with my Sony fx30 when I do any type of recording racing events. The focus on the z200 nx800 is really good. It is just as good as my Sony A7rv. I am curious were you shooting straight out of the camera or were you using s-log, hlg, or cinetone? I've been using Straight Out of the camera rec-709 for live racing events

Since it's for Live news I use Cinetone as I found the colors a bit more saturated than 709.

@ I’m gonna have to do some more testing with cinetone. I tried it once and I could’ve swore as soon as I clicked on it it overexposed. Or was that HLG. Do I have to overexpose it at all like slog?

@@Louphotos No need to overexpose in Cinetone, I use Zebras set at 48-52% for skin tones and have the waveform to keep an eye on the whole image. Also S-Cinetone doesn't clip until 109, so setting zebras to 100 wastes dynamic range. I like it for news because it create rich-looking content without a lot of post-production work.

@@sunflowerdeath I love mine. It is my favorite camera to do video. And the auto framing feature is pretty cool also. I used it at a wedding for the first dance while I was photographing it. It did everything for me and followed the couple while they danced like it was its own cameraman. There’s some cool things this camera can do.

Hey, love your video John! I know that it can zoom up to 20x which is equivalent of 490mm. When you use Sony's Clear Image Zoom to reach 32x, what would you say is the equivalence? Also, how far can you actually zoom in using Clear Image Zoom? Considering to get this camera for air shows. Thanks!

With Clear Image Zoom it extends to 720mm (in 35mm equivalent), using the extra pixels of the 5K sensor to maintain lossless 4K image quality. I was shooting in 1080 so I definitely didn't notice any loss in quality when using it.

Shooting at 1080 you can go all the way to 40× zoom on this one. 😃👍 (30× shooting at 4K.)
