@@Chrissy-H That was a great period, I had several great cars from that era (E60 545i, W212 E500) but I do quite like some of the modern tech (adaptive cruise, auto-braking, headup display, bluetooth audio streaming), so I'm shifted to around 2014-2021. It was around 2021 it started turning to crap for me.

If I'm driving, I don't want to be messing around in screen menus (looking away from the road) if I just want to change the temp by a degree, or turn on the seat heating. #Dangerous My 2019 BMW has all that stuff in screen menus, but also has physical buttons for the things I use every day. I basically never have to use the screen.

Am I the only one who thinks the stock watch jingle is the worst jingle ever? 1. It’s hard to understand, it just sounds like they’re saying “stotch” slowly, not “stock watch” 2. It’s not catchy, I literally forget it right after I hear it and then it catches me off guard on the next episode 3. The energy is way off… when I think stock watch, I don’t think slow, lounge music. I think urgency - like an alert. Like, “STOCK WATCH! This just in, a cool deal.” So yeah… idk… crap jingle IMO. 😅

Funny you mentioned the M3 Touring instead of the Panamera. My dad sent me an Auto Trader ad for a Panamera. And I said exactly what Tony said “if I was spending that kind for money, I’d just get an M3 Touring”. That’s what he did, got a 2nd hand M3 touring with 500 miles for nearly 15k off list. Caveat: I am not a BMW fanboy, I drive a Porsche Macan S.

I didn’t think I would love the brand new 2025 Kona I bought my wife. It’s such a nice place to be and to drive, it is literally everything you would ever want. Turning off the lane assist and speed warning is a bit of a pain every time you jump in the car.

Have you calculated how much extra fuel you use and as such what is the cost of the electricity coming from the engine and how does that compare with cost from home charging, commercial forecourt charging, or just doing the miles on petrol?

Hey sam & tony , you mentioned that the upcoming mercedes cle63 will have a twinturbo v6, but thats the engine in the 53 amg's. The new cle 63 will get the 4.0l v8 again, with hybrid assist. Most likeley the S E performance drivetrain with 816 hp & 1000Nm

As most people here I'm a car nut. In a period of 30 years I've owned over 80 cars. Never owned an electric... After selling my business two years ago (not car related) I got asked if would like to be a sales representative for JLR, and ofcourse I did. I loved cars and had nothing better to do... Well two years later I lost ALL interest of new cars, I'm quiting my job on the first of january. This summer I sold my AM Vantage F1 after only a few months of ownership. It was shit, and only problems!! (This was my eight AM). I've been looking for a new daily for the last six months having no clue what to buy... Having all possiblities getting a good deal on a new car through my job, I ended up buying a -16 Alpina B3 touring last week, and it's great. My next "recreational car" will be a 90s or early 2000 v8 or v12 manual.. And then I'm going to stop. Well almost, I need to have a previous generation Defender back in my life. But then I am going to stop! All new cars are uninteresting and too expensive ‼️
